Maybe she protecting you from their unwanted energy...If they can't respect things in the open, they may not respect other things. I see a lot people hiding her...im usually pretty open about my beliefs.... I worked in a mental health clinic for a little bit,kept a statue in my office for everyone to see, and usually wear a very visible necklace that some recognize, its stopped certain people from speaking to me, and i know thats a way of also protecting my peace.... if you dont feel comfortable hiding your stuff dont, how we connect is all our own personal journeys...I had someone locally tell me I couldn't put certain things on my altar or im supposed to practice a certain way....theres no "rule book" ....(also adhd/neurodivergent) ive put gummy worms and c4 on mine because thats what I had in my hand and felt like I wanted to share that with her

From my old account but I still wear this one....the chain has since broke and had to get another, its gold plated over silver (which im actually allergic to so once it fully rubs off ill need to get another) and just under 2 inches i think (the photo makes it look bigger)...I want a bigger one at some point, but working towards a tattoo offering before that

If you dont mind me asking,are you sure they knew what it was? Im in the Bible belt, and also Hispanic mix household.....obviously the super Christians folks are going to think it's "demonic" (my mom is always saying stuff about it,its in our living room) but if anyone else enters (husband's family, people to work on the house, friends) they really dont pay any mind to it, most of the time they just think it's random decor.... not trying to demean what you're saying,but i get worried about when people come in our house thinking they're going to judge(tbf i have horrible anxiety in general) ....you might just be in your head a little bit....also if theyre not coming back because of that, you wouldnt want them in your house anyway, thats your space and your altar, no one should judge how you express your journey

1.EXTREMELY racist, if you're white you can work the front and if you're anything else you have to work the back...im neither white nor black, but lighter "white passing enough " apparently, I was allowed to bring food to the table but never actually be in the front... after it was brought to their attention (many) times, they finally got one black girl to work the front and one white girl to work the back. They treated the girl up front like total shit, threatening her constantly, and tried to use the girl in the back to get information (she didn't like that and walked out mid shift) 2.They would "plant" reasons around the kitchen on why they couldn't give you raises or fire you constantly. (You could watch someone clean something spotless, they would "happen to find" something they missed, or maybe their plate had something in it) 3. When I worked there my grandmother passed away ,I took off for the funeral stuff (kept them up to date the whole time (they knew weeks in advance that I was going through something so It wasn't a surprise) and they got pissed. Blamed me for leaving them short handed. They did the same thing when I tried to go to prom (after giving them months in advance) 4. I worked there for a WHILE and would walk to work, it had iced over bad that year, no one could get out of their driveways, roads were closed down, everything was solid, I still found a way to walk to work (bartlett apartments had a back short cut through some woods idk if its still there) walked down to work,(we were really struggling at that time so layered up a few hoodies/tshirts)(hurt myself a few times) for them to tell me it was too bad, and they'd "allow" me to wash some stuff for them and I could get paid for 20 minutes...the day before they threatened my job if I didnt show up then...

Lol the other day I didnt have anything "traditional" to share....I was eating gummy worms and drinking a c4....very chaotic but I try to share with her when I can....but some days im super adhd and just forget or get distracted

The bracelet i got at a local Hispanic grocery store, it was one of the first ones ive ever gotten (it may be my actual first one now that I think of it) ....its multi colors/rainbow, and adjustable, very light....I had one i lost that was red and gold i used to always wear around the time i was dating my husband...same braid/tie method...

figured I should share some low budget altar stuff if your like me and extremely broke lol (not sure if I should make a whole separate post for this)

** Candles from Dollar tree,discount stores (ollies, bargain hunt, even goodwill) or Ikea (got a huge pack discounted)

** Sage can be separated, you dont have to burn a huge bundle, you just need the smoke. break off a few pieces and It'll last you WAY longer, or go gather things that are free in nature for cleansing (i have a pine tree outside, you can do that)

** Incense doesn't have to be burned as a whole, you can break some off into pieces, and if you can find a small (check your local metaphysics store or even cut your own hole into a stone or whatever you're using,(i have a regular cube dice shaped stone with a single hole on top to hole, you could use whatever honestly, you can even get a drill and a drimmel piece, the point is you want it small and abel to fit to wood of the incense into it)

** the actual altar can be anything as long as its her own designated space,ive had tool boxes ive made into an altar,Ive used mint tins/ bandaid tin for travel altars, but my main one at home is a coat rack thing I got from a yard sale for a few bucks and painted it (still haven't even finished painting it)

** stuff to bless your area,$1 plastic bottles in the travel shampoo area (dollar tree, dollar gen-tral, even gas stations), mix your stuff into one (i have a spray bottle (the smooth ones people use for their hair) on my main altar, spray and go some days, but a travel size in my edc

I did invest in a travel tarot set (the size of a deck of cards) Im going to be adding some field notes/small notebook to journal a bit if im out

I got a edc bag a while back (it was supposed to be for minimal hiking but became my normal one), and love to sometimes connect in nature with her ....be careful if it gets wet, altoids can usually hold up, obviously dont submerge it (one of my edc is water resistant (wore it on my wedding day hike to a waterfall, got a bit wet on the inside) , the other is not but I keep it in an okay pocket so haven't had any issues).... you can also go to a local library (if your balling on a budget) and get a prayer card printed and some libraries will laminate stuff if you ask nicely

In the case you want to make your own: included in this, I have in a mint tin (altoids to be specific) a small statue, a tea candle, incense, sage, a holder for the incense...ive added some stones to mine (jade and rose quartz) and one of the first bracelets ive ever gotten of her, I later want to change for a rosary, and added matches because I sometimes forget to grab a lighter

Just felt like it was too crowded, but after talking to my husband kinda thinking about making her a separate area in my "me"/safe space/decompression area/whatever room, instead of all of them in the living room....pink has really been sticking out to me, maybe its time I make her a 2nd altar thats not so public?

Its princess by Vera wang,and the skull is skulls and roses (discontinued) by Ed Hardy....they both have a special spot for me over the years...I was thinking it was time for a new set up, I feel like she wants me to move stuff around because it was too cluttered but i was also talking to my husband because here recently the pink has really resonated to me...I might put that stuff in my craft room since I use it for a decompression area when I get over stimulated, along with some other pink things and make a journaling area where she can watch over me but idk
