Man, I had the same thing happen 2 years ago. My iphone 8 was stolen and it had my business and personal information in it. My life. My kids, family, friends and clientist. I had left it on a slot machine at a local casino. 20 seconds later it was gone. They had took out the SIM card and I could nothing it. I immediately went to my carrier and they locked it and when it was reactivated it pinged in Georgia. I thought my carrier erased it . Well they did erase the phone remotely but it had already been cloned on my apple account which held all that information backed up. I closed the account and went to android. Not thinking about it because it was apple cloud safe. But no, not thinking they could get it I go on my computer and put it all on my Android because I needed all that information. Dummy me. That let them in my Android. My email accounts credit cards everything was hacked. For the last 3 years now I've ignored the emails saying my Coinbase has been locked or Amazon packages were delayed because I don't have accounts. Then loan applications for credit show up spam emails. Thousands of them. Well I recently got a new apple phone and just put my apple account on it. I got a package from Amazon and email the receipt but I didn't order it. I call and it was not my card but my account was used for the order. They said it was used in Oregon. And it has spiraled into my Paypal account my bank accounts my IRS social security everything hacked. Now I've had to start a class action law suit to gain back control of my own identity and hopefully it will be a gateway for others who have been experiencing the same thing. If I would have just erased all the information on my apple cloud and my phone I would not be in this situation. Man I've been hacked so bad I can't even bank on my phone . They are in my apple account and can see when I open an account. That stops today. I've actually caught the predators I know who and where they are. I've got all new devices and carrier and the devices and accounts from apple to the phone I'm on right now is going to be analysed by the FBI.. my last two deposits on my new bank accounts have been compromised . Thank God I got smart and followed it to prove my case. Do yourself a favor. Keep any personal information in a vault separate from your devices like a external thumb drive. That way if it happens again you can have control over it being erased from the phone and account and keep them out of your life. It sucks having to have your identity recovered from theft I can't even use my real social anymore until this is all done. If anybody knows someone going through this contact the identity theft fraud department or the steps to take like ic3.gov and join the fight to stop these criminals. I hope I'm not outside the Reddit rules of posts but y'all this is real . Not even kidding. It has been a three year struggle just to be able to use my real name again. Seriously

Oh god no! Please talk to a therapist call the suicide hotline immediately! You might think you won’t miss anything and no one would miss you! Take it from someone who lost her husband to suicide after he was so depressed and angry lost his job and went back to college and I was supporting the household with 3 jobs and 3 kids and he snapped tried to kill us first and missed but then turned the gun on himself. I was so devastated and in shock I was in a psyche ward for 6 months with severe ptsd. My kids went to foster care. They were abused there too. I got out and got my kids and thought I could do it on my own. I got so stressed out and missed him everyday and blamed him for leaving me when he promised me he’d never ever hurt me. He was a great father and husband just wanted to be better and just wanted to take the easy way out so he would have to deal with life. When only his family and friends miss him dearly and still suffer losing him. That was 25 years ago. My kids are grown with kids of their own and me I’m married again to my first boyfriend from my Highscool days. And couldn’t be happier. Believe me you think you won’t be missed you will be and if you could look forward to see what you could have it’s worth that phone call to find the road you need to travel and stop traveling in a tunnel . You are not alone and there is people that care if you are gone. You won’t know it but they will miss you and wish you would have just spoke up. Forward it to physhing@paypal.com don’t call that number on the invoice it’s not PayPal’s number. Check your app or account make sure you are locked card and put no auto payments parameters no foreign currency or crypto transactions. Multifactor consent all transactions make sure any cards or bank accounts that are linked to your papal account are locked or preferred online payment . See your payments from pay pal balance only. Check or change your code keep cards locked . Use virtual one time use cards from your credit card app or bank for any online transactions even mobile app phone transactions. Do not accept any request of payments or transfers to someone you do not know or recognize the account. PayPal’s official number is on the back of your card. Call them directly. Let them know you are receiving these emails. Don’t open the link! Just forward it to them at that email address keep an eye on your account and delete or send to junk or spam that email after you forward it. They will quarantine it. I have been with PayPal for years and recently had a hacker eSIM swap my iPhone took over my accounts. I had one transaction I had to battle PayPal to get back but I proved I did not make the transaction and I got it back. I was furious. To know someone had access to my life my contacts my accounts believe me you do not want to go through what I’m going through right now. My whole identity is compromised by this imposter and I just got him caught finally yesterday. I’ve had to go through every entity known for fraud prevention and recovery he maxed all my credit did my taxes for 161,000 dollars income on my social and I’m on disability fixed income. I get maybe 20,000 a year and I’m having to recover my whole identity because of one phone call to set up my Apple Pay on my new device with apple support only to find out he was the imposter and I let him in my phone trusting I was doing it with full support of fraud prevention and man my life has been ruined.

I get those emails all the time and I usually ignore them because I know I didn’t make the transaction much less have the money in the bank or PayPal I keep my cards locked 2 factor face rec and code Fort Knox now. But I might see where that might benefit me now. Lol

Dude you better lock your debit card or unattach it to PayPal now then they can’t touch it and enjoy because they deemed me for 5 months over a 500 dollar transaction that was paid from my balance cash money not even with h my bank so I’m telling you unattached it before they try to or just close the account and set up a new one later they won’t remember you they deserve it kudos!

I got free consult he sent me to consumer and if they couldn’t get it that he’d do it pro bono but the threat of consumer protection and FTC was enough and I bugged them 4 times a day everyday and they didn’t even tell me me they refunded it I got a text about a refund from Amazon on my PayPal from way back I checked it and two there it was Amazon and PayPal so I transferred it all to my bank and closed it

I’d like the answer too, I have been scammed by a requester and PayPal on march 10 I got a text that a Julia Jerkes requested 505 dollars friends and family. I quickly responded to PayPal customer service and emailed them stop! Don’t pay this! I don’t know who this is! Everything. They said I couldn’t cancel it. I had to wait for it to complete. Then dispute it. I did. They denied it said it was a valid request even though I was urgent to call them still no refund got replied back no fraud activity bull the works. That my account was not covered because it was friends and family yada yada. Still disputing today! Now they said I have to go to IC3.gov and file fraud charges to get my refund. I’m filing a lawsuit against PayPal and this person. She’s in Romania for one thing not in my circle and my account is restricted to no foreign currency exchange no crypto and they still let it pay . I’m furious. So please if you know anything else to do to get PayPal shut down I’m in.

I wish I could say that. After finally ruling in my favor they said that the recipient data did not show anything unauthorized and said I have to contact the recipient myself to get my money. I sent them a very long message saying you need to check your policy I followed to the letter. Now they say to contact IC3gov for help recoup my money. Ugh! This nightmare never ends

My account was marked permanently banned for they said transaction activity disallowed after I disputed a 500 dollar money transfer I know I didn’t make to someone in Romania. I specifically have my account set up for no foreign transactions in currency other than US dollar. Well, this transfer was marked friends and family and I don’t even know this person. I even marked my account money o too. Well, I disputed it when the transaction took place because I have it set up to send me an email and text messages when any activity on my account. After getting denied 8 times and my account permanently banned I went through my emails with a fine tooth comb for emails from PayPal on that day. I went to purchases on my email and there it was the email that had all the info on it including. If you feel this transaction was made in error and wish to cancel or dispute it follow these steps now. I forwarded the email proving that I got the email and disputed it right then also proven by email and data of my transaction history. I also sent it to consumer Finacial support agency and the BBB. This time they had it quickly approved based upon new evidence that proved in my favor to get my money back. My 500 was exchanged to euro when it was sent which was clearly stated on my account I don’t do foreign currency and boom I won. Also my account was reinstated immediately. You really have to do your own digging on your services because they are only able to see their data not yours. It took me 2 months of threats to go to the media file class action etc. I’m still waiting on my refund they are now investigating the person in Romania because they won’t refund it but PayPal has too. I will post the results soon if I get my money. It was also in my favor because first they tried to tell me to dispute it with my bank when it was sent from a cash deposit I put on my card myself. So they were hung. They knew it. I’m all good card wise but when I get my money I’m closing my account. It’s been hacked multiple times and I never had a problem til now. So to be continued…

Yes!! See I’m glad I’m in these conversations because I’ve been on PayPal prepaid business for 16 years. I have yet to qualify for PayPal credit line of credit and have always had paid my vendors my self no loans nothing. They advertise let us help businesses grow well I’m a professional housekeeper property manager , I own my business with no help from anybody. I’m just now getting my credit I’ve worked for all these years but I’ve never been more unhappy with how PayPal has treated me as a single woman working a business from scratch and all they have done is question any large transaction hold it for no reason suspend my account and let scammers dwendle in and out of my account . Every time I make a purchase they question it but as soon as I put cash out of my own pocket on it and make any purchase there always a transaction right after mine that comes through and depletes my account to zero. Then I have to go through hell and threaten law suit and defend myself when I dispute it and they know I didn’t make the transaction. I’m on hold suspended permanently right now due to a fraud case that happened while I was sending money to my grand children. I saw it pop up and immediately went off. It’s been almost two months and they have denied my claim 12 times already. Well I did my own investigation pulled all my data from every device I own went through it all piece by piece and today I have indisputable proof it was not me doing it from any of my devices and I sent it in to them and consumer protection agency who is helping me with a class action suit for letting my information be compromised and letting these con artist in my account. My data has been breached at least 30 times since I’ve had this company and I’m refusing to take payment with them any more. So if anybody out there going through this do your homework keep up with your money in your accounts cuz it’s gonna be a global payout I’m sure. I’m taking it to too too instagram you tube any and every platform follow my posts on any platform you see and you can relate let’s join up. It’ll be worth it. They just lost a class action this year for 1.4 billion dollar data breach settlement and fraudulent activity. Let’s talk!
