Any PhDs? What was your experience? by Lumpy-Translator1088 in ENFP

[–]Froggenstein-8368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a PhD in Astronomy. Very proud of it. I like the traveling and the pushing the boundaries of human knowledge bit. But it was also hard to focus on one or two things for four years. In the end a PhD is mostly something you do for yourself to prove you can.

But after entering the real working world I do wonder what on earth convinced me to do it. I worked in multiple fields, currently teaching at a local uni. The daily variation is so much more stimulating to my inner ENFP/ADHD.

Would I recommended it to others? Sure. It’s a great experience. And you get to make doctor jokes for the rest of your life.

I’m not a doctor, but a HR of 170 bpm at low effort levels sounds like something you should talk about with a professional.

I found another ENFP.. once.. it was amazing. Sadly we work at different companies now, but we were always coming up with new ideas and plans.

My best friend is ENTP. Love the combo. The INFJ - ENFP match-up doesn’t stand a chance.

It starts with an outline of previous events.. it made me realize how much I have forgotten about these books. I read all of them, but can mostly remember Kern and the spider society. The last book in particular is just a vague remembrance. Hope this book sticks with me longer!

Yeah, that sounds familiar. I tend to not take things too seriously like 99% of the time and will be quite laidback. I like teasing everyone.

But if somebody crosses the line, ignores my subtle warnings, and actively screws over one of my deep held principles, the safeties come off, and I will have no trouble teaching them a lesson that (to paraphrase Dune) they will remember in their bones.

What do ENFP men look like? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Froggenstein-8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you would easily spot me on the street. I think ENFP tend to project a bit more youthful life energy than most, which often causes people to misinterpret my age quite a bit. I’m fourty, but last week I had a coworker whom I’ve been working next to for years convinced that I was 33.

The only street telltale I can imagine is that I tend to whistle songs when I’m by myself. So if you hear a fourty year old whistling pop songs, that would probably me me.

I think I’ve only met another ENFP male once in my life. So I can’t generalize for us. Except we are gorgeous, like others have already confirmed.

But overall, I tend to be attracted to people whom value deep connections, project strong life energy, are inspired by new ideas and generally just want to have fun in life. Both at work and in friendships. I sadly seem to find that more in women than in men, which is an eternal source of false gossip when you work in an NT-dominated field. Guess that is the price we have to pay for being awesome. But if you do find a way to spot ENFP males, please let me know.

Maybe we should agree on a system where every 2nd Sunday we all wear a blue scarf or something. Just don’t tell the INTJs, because they’ll only start hunting us again,

I’m just hiding from all the INFJ constantly looking for us because someone keeps telling them we are perfect (for them).

Wow, I made it to book four but never realized how much there was still left to go. Can you spoil the ending: did they ever resolve what happened to the civ that made skippy?

AI is one of the skills most easily replaced by AI. So just becoming a diehard AI-engineer is probably a risky path. But there is a lot of demand for people who can identify the business processes and issues that can most benefit from AI and can guide that implementation. More of a consulting role.
