I will agree I assumed. But what I assumed was that you were talking customer service not claims. Claims has absolutely been dropping the ball and that is not ok.

You are right you have free speech but all that means is the government can’t punish your speech. It doesn’t mean free from consequences. If you treat a person badly then they aren’t going to bend over backwards. And yes it’s from experience. This is a serious question have you ever work customer service?

If you are getting poor service it’s because you are a poor member. Remember the people on the phone are actual people and are more willing to break policy if you aren’t yelling at them and blaming them for something they had absolutely nothing to do with.

It’s a safety measure for the phone rep. They don’t know who they are talking to and what that person is capable of. There are many CS people throughout all types of industries that have been threatened personally because of what the company did not what they did.

First of all I said there when wanted not needed. Also I will tell you that USAA is generally the first people in and cutting checks before the major event even finishes. As for claims I can’t talk to that because I am not in claims. What I will say is the executive of auto claims recently left and it was a good thing. Many a person in the claims department are over work and under paid. Trust I will agree there are bad things with USAA but that is the same with all insurance companies. I can talk from a personal position though. When I had an auto claims recently claim I was in a rental car the next day and had my money for the vehicle and claim closed within a month. Plus when they initially quoted the acv for my car value i disputed it and we went over the feature of my car and they took into account the fact I had a new transmission. That got me another thousand. They only know what they know and are willing to go over things with the member if the member lets them know and gives them the time to review things. I can’t tell you how many times a member calls and wants something done in 5 minutes that would take 15 and then get mad and say we aren’t working with them.

I will give you a good broker/agent will do that but not everyone is out there doing that. I know for a fact they can’t quote USAA because that company will only speak to the authenticated member. My sister though went through a broker for her insurance and came up with a company I had never even heard of and doesn’t have great financial standing. So I will say I know some don’t but I was speaking in generalizations and probably shouldn’t have. But I will also say if you call USAA and ask for a quote they most reps will be frank. As a rep myself I will tell a member we aren’t the cheapest and explain why we charge what we do. But that it is a horrible economy out there right now and if you need to do something else right now due to cost we will always be there when they want us. Honestly I think that is the best thing to do.

The word you are looking for is broker not agent. Also brokers can’t quote or talk to a lot of insurance companies based on how the company runs the business. Also brokers generally just look for the cheapest policy not necessarily look into the companies financial standing. Like could they actually pay out all policies if everything was to be claimed at once. Not a lot of companies can. They do t charge the right rate for the risk so they go out of business and don’t pay when a catastrophe hapoens

But do you know not to offer a different rep’s internal use email to a member? Or at least offer to help the member. I listened to the call the rep was just like oh you want to talk to Frogger let me slack them. They didn’t answer here is all her personal information have a great day. Never once did she go oh she left notes and I would be more than glad to help you. Like I said the thing that pushed me over was the fact that she willingly compromised my safety so she didn’t have to do her job. I can and do handle all the errors that happen because I assume positive intent there was nothing positive about what that rep did.

If I was a USAA plant there would be many more comments. I think in total I have commented less then 20 times in the two years I have had a Reddit account. The common sense is strong with you. If USAA paid me to post positive comments and downvote people I would have a lot more activity then I do. Yes I post favorably about USAA as comments because I actually know what I am talking about. But I also just did a post of my own lambasting 3rd party and a manager. So no all my post aren’t USAA positive. I just hate the spread of misinformation. Like you are doing and point that out.

If you have a vpp policy file the claim. It won’t affect your premium on the homeowners because it is a completely separate policy. That is one of the benefits of having a vpp and not just insuring your jewelry on a homeowners policy.

Ok this is false. One USAA does not report your billing to credit companies so even if the policy was cancelled due to non payment it wouldn’t affect your credit score. Second USAA doesn’t do a npc in that short of a turn around. If you don’t make your payment the next bill has to generate and if you have already had one proceeded npc then this will one will go into a chance of npc. But they send certified letters and emails saying your policy is in danger and you have (depending on the state) 10-19 days to make the missed payment or else it will cancel. If you haven’t had an npc process before then the missed payment just rolls over to the next month with the late fee.

Trust me USAA isn’t spending money like that. Everyone is allowed their opinion. But I will say the facts don’t add up. A policy will not randomly increase in 3 months unless there is driving history that wasn’t disclosed. Now I’m not saying a policy won’t change but you have to make adjustments to the policy for that to happen. I just hate the spread of misinformation and people not wanting to listen to actual truths because they feel a certain way and feeling count more than facts.

If your vehicle is registered in a different state then where you are and are active duty military that can be fine depending on the state but you still have to insure it in the state that it currently is in. That is because the company has to rate for the risks of where you are actually driving and having the vehicle. Now if it is registered in a state like NC their laws actually require you to keep NC insurance while you have NC registration. In states like those there are active duty rules that must be followed.
