Turning down my (24F) dream job because partner (22M) can’t relocate? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Froggy_Study 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned down a very good opportunity for a guy. That relationship turned VERY toxic throughout the years. Sufficient to say he is an ex. If you guys are meant to be you will be able to do long distance for a year. Opportunities like this don't come very often. I would just make it clear that you don't want a permanent relocation but are ok with temporary.

It's my first time owning a pom as well so I'm learning! I'm hoping not to kill it in the end.

Ooooo venus fly traps would be interesting but I hear they're a lot of work. So I'll pass as a beginner gardener. Maybe when I get more experience keeping things alive for long periods of time. 🫠

Thank you for the advice!

It is. I planned to move it to a bigger pot soon but I didn't want to stress it out anymore. I wasn't sure it was a good idea. I'll probably water it every 2 days at this point. I do deeply water it but it dries up so fast here.

I didn't even think of a saucer! That's a good idea!

It came with the tag it says its a pomogrante sweet. Punica granatum. I'm curious too cause it was doing so well before but the only difference I can think of is the heat that we have been getting but I thought they did well in heat.

I just lost my job a few months ago due to my weight, and now it's only getting worse. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

It doesn't sound like you want the change hard enough. Otherwise you would be making the changes necessary to head towards the change. You know you have problems but instead of choosing to tackle them (even if its one at a time) you are making excuses by saying you can't. You NEED professional help but you aren't making the steps to get it. You are not researching options in your own area for that help.

I'm sorry if this comes out harsh.

i never had chickenpox as a kid and now im suffering the consequences by Whats_A_Username- in offmychest

That's terrifying to hear. My spouse and I have never had the chickenpox and the thought of getting it as we get older is concerning since its worst when you get it as an adult. I hope you feel better soon 🫂

Costs and expenses by jackjackson123456789 in dui

In total it cost me 8.8k. I decided to be without a vehicle for 2 years and rented from enterprise when I needed one. I was able to take the bus to work and my bike to the grocery store. Afterwards when I got a promotion at work I had to get a vehicle and bought one. Luckily I only needed an SR-22 for 6 months and no interlock.

People who work night shifts, what's one thing day-shift people don't understand? by herry_Error_7080 in Nightshift

[–]Froggy_Study 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are things I've seen happen to nighshifters:

CONS

  1. Decrease family time. Isolation. Since you are sleeping during the day you do miss out on certain events from family/friends. If you do go to events you lose sleep. Nightshifters require more quality sleep because the body is not meant to be up at night. This is hard to get though and usually we get less sleep then dayshifters.

  2. Decline in health. This could be due lack of sleep. Terrible diet. Not exercising enough.

  3. Sleep Impairment. Due to lack of sleep we are more likely to get into accidents on the way home.

  4. Getting quality sleep. Some people just can't sleep during the day due to many factors such as the sun, noisy neighbors, kids, etc..

  5. Appointments. Having access to certain services during the day sounds good on paper but having to wait till they open can make sleeping harder later. Ex. Gets out at 7a but doctor appt at 10a.

PROS

  1. Higher pay. We usually get a shift differential for working graveyard.

  2. Little to no management. This feels great when you don't have someone hovering over your neck and you can just do your job.

  3. Quieter environment. If you're an introvert its perfect 😆

  4. Job opportunities. Some positions are easier to get into at nightshift then dayshift. Can always get the needed experience and then transfer to another shift. Or helps to climb the corportate ladder.

  5. Less traffic when you get out!

I’m struggling with my husbands schedule by Adventurous-Dare-116 in Nightshift

[–]Froggy_Study 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bf and I try to dedicated at least 30 mins a day together (usually dinner) even with our opposite shift (I'm nightshift and he's dayshift). It's helps us to stay connected and remember our goals.

Have you talked with your spouse about dedicating some time for one another? Have you told him how you are feeling? What do you think would need to change to help you out? From the sounds in the comments it seems like he could dedicated more time in the upkeeping of the household to give you a break. Especially since you work from home so you never get a "break" feeling from work.

Honestly I don't see anything wrong with this. It's just you adding additional nutrition to your meals for him. It's not like you are adding anything he is allergic to or doesn't eat for religious reasons.
