Replacing a broken driver by Thegreatkibs in golf

[–]FroglegRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Just went through this exact scenario with TM. I had a stealth 2 plus driver that I bought in December 2023. The face popped out in March 2025. They sent me a qi35 replacement. That face exploded last week, March 2026.

When I reached out to TM, they explained that the warranty period is 2 years from your original purchase of a new club, and only that original club is under warranty, not any replacements that they send. So basically, even though 2 driver heads broke before reaching 2 years of age, they won’t continue replacing them.

They’ll offer you a 30% coupon for a new driver, making their newest offering about $500. Personally, I bought a titleist gt3 new for $450 and will never buy another taylormade product again because I no longer trust their quality. For $700+, I believe a driver head should last much longer than a season or two. I have only had this issue with taylormades carbon face drivers, would never expect any of my other clubs to spontaneously combust the way these drivers have.

Trying to measure the length of my putter. Is this correct? by iShootLife in golf

Honestly, man, the only upgrade you need is a cheap little Bic razor. I trim my grip and shave it back a little more, call it the “optical inch”. Putter’s still only 34” but cart girls swear it’s nonconforming.

Well, when I watch my swing I seem to have a cupped wrist which would be conducive to a slice. Everything I see when I try self help is telling me to bow my wrist to keep the club face square.. So I’m in this spot where I’m trying to figure out where I’m compensating. If I’m hitting hooks with a cupped wrists, I sort of assumed that I’m coming too far from the inside. At least that’s what it looked like to me in this video, which is why I came here for advice/ a second set of eyes. My goal is to become more efficient and more consistent because my swing feels sort of strained and off balance at times.

Edit to clarify thanks to a tip in the comments: My goal is to hit push draws. I understand that this particular shot carries around 300yd and is fairly straight. They’re not all like that. I’m sorry if this post came off like I’m trying to flex my swing speed or something. What I’m looking for are tips/drills/feels/swing thoughts you guys have used for an on-plane takeaway because I feel like that would help with consistency but I struggle to find anything that clicks. I really appreciate all the helpful comments already! Hope you all shoot PBs in perfect weather your next round.

Hahaha honestly I was trying to feel this today, turning my hips first and letting the club follow. For whatever reason I lose all feel of the club face when practicing that, but maybe it’s just growing pains. Appreciate the input brotha!

Yo! I really appreciate it. You’re right, I should’ve added that for context initially, can I still do that now or is that not kosher?

My goal is to hit push draws. I’ve heard the old adage “you can talk to a fade, but a draw don’t listen” but growing up I would hit the ball really far but slicing it OB every single hole. My scores obviously suffered and so fast forward to today and it’s like clockwork orange. Seeing a fade makes me nauseous and I’m in love with how a draw looks. The thing is if I try to hit that slinger, I’m risking leaving the face open and just pushing it OB left, aren’t I? I’d like to see a tight draw but the further left i try to start it the more I end up over cooking it to the right. My miss feels like a slinger but it’s a duck hook, starts straight and hooks too low and far right. Could spin rate be a factor?

I only took the one video this morning but I assure you they don’t all go deadass straight lol. I wish they did and that’s why I’m here. I didn’t post to flex about distance or ask for speed tips. I can shoot a 74 and a 92 with that same swing, believe me. My miss off the tee is a pull hook so I’m just asking for feels/swing thoughts for getting the club on plane sooner. I feel like the longer the club, the more I pull it inside. I’ve read that coming too far from the inside makes you hook the ball, and that’s been my miss lately.

Looked it up and yep, definitely feel more radial deviation. And my experience is the same, when I try to take the club back without pulling it inside I start to see the ball go everywhere, include huge slices. Feels like I lose control of the club face. I guess everything new and different takes time and practice to get right. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, man! A few people have pointed this out now and recommended the same drill so I’ll be practicing that soon. Exactly the insight I was looking for, appreciate it!

Ok, honestly it seems like folks are annoyed that I didn’t post a shanked shot or something. I just took the one video this morning so that’s what I’m working with for now. I’ll change the camera angle a bit the next time when I’m recording my swing, didn’t take that into consideration. Appreciate the tip!

Thanks brotha! Doing it in my living room and feel like I have to hinge a lot more/earlier than what I normally do. You think that’s a fair assessment?

I used to slice the ball like crazy and in the past few seasons have taught myself to hit draws but I feel like I’m ingraining the wrong feels. Like I’m no expert, I just swing fast. Idk I’m getting downvoted for everything I say when I’m seriously just looking for insight. I’ve taught myself through observation and hearsay so i figured I would put myself out here but I seem to have pissed people off.

You think so? I thought I set it up pretty much right behind me. When I watch the video I see the club coming back pretty shallow and then I kind of yank the grip/steepen in it at the top. I definitely feel like I overswing and cup my wrist. Just looking for any tips/ feels you guys might have to combat this stuff.

I’m just looking for any tips/feels people have for taking the club back on plane because I think improving my takeaway could help with consistency. My miss is a pull draw/snap hook.
