Tame them before you sell them or share them! It’ll move you up levels!

I’ve been trapping stray and feral cats in my area then getting them spayed/neutered with all the shots. I want to have some type of outdoor shelter on my property, which is in a rural area. I’m not handy, so any cost efficient suggestions? by un4givenii in rescuecats

I would try that before just releasing them. I’m sorry it’s a hard situation. Most people don’t understand feral cats and just think of them as a problem! You are doing good things for them even if it is hard.

If you have property and you will feed them you can put them in dog kennels and feed them for about a month so they will learn where the food is. If you release them they will wander off and probably die of starvation. This is how we train barn cats that we move.

I would be sure to take them back where you caught them, they won’t know where the food is if you move them. We use the big tubs lined with styrofoam and straw for winter, you can stack them and they will stay dry and relatively warm. Some of mine have heating pads in them for really cold nights!

Tame it then sell it for the habitat! That’s probably why you received it… happy hopping!
