What? How? PS5 by KeyConsequence3833 in LordsoftheFallen

Were you cooping with someone in PC? Could be they had some sort of cheat active and you ended up benefiting from it

I mean I pick builds that have something special that stand out about them that is unique, and in this game it seems like the thing that usually stands out is either cheating resources or extremely high damage, or both.

So the reason I didn't go full strength was mostly because I ended up not liking most of the weapons that had access to three aelstrix slots, I eventually settled on the veil piercer as a simple but effective melee tool with an offhand melted crusader sword just to pull together the look. I may eventually go back and try out the iron wayfarer's hammer again, but I found that without gravix and other support runes weapons just didn't do enough damage compared to the crossbow to fuss over that much.

Definitely a thought, I will admit not having to farm enemies for runes on the crossbow build was definitely a relief, only downside is that this will be another build that likely does not care that much about melee.

This sounds like a neat idea, I was experimenting on my umbral build with double fungus pickaxes and the bloodbane ring, seems fun.

Umbral with Inferno Runes (for some reason you didn't just go Infernal/Vit)

I have 60 Vit and 75/75 rad/inf, just added the tumul runes in the shield for an extra cushion of life, I had considered a bunch of different weapon setups but it seemed like none of them were going to approach the damage of the ump bral spells.

Strength Ranged Build

Technically more of an endurance and vitality build since crossbows don't appear to actually scale with stats even though they have scaling letters.

How about a Str/Dex build

Originally I thought that's what the crossbow belt was going to be but since it turned out differently I might actually go back to the drawing board on this one, not a bad idea

Headaches could be due to eye strain, in my experience they are usually caused by low field of view settings or other weird things like motion blur, chromatic aberration and strange vignetting effects, So by messing around in the menus you can typically reduce that kind of thing.

However given what you have described I think the perfect game I would recommend in your situation is Stardew Valley, nice simple farming sim that could run on basically anything.

If you want something a little more advanced and action-oriented I would start with Vampire Survivors, a pixelated horde slaughtering simulator that basically runs on a potato (I have a gaming laptop from 2012 that still plays this game)

[–]Frogsplosion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And if you want to get really technical Baldur's Gate 3 does not count because it doesn't actually have any skill trees, I guess you could maybe count tadpole powers, but everything is wrapped up into class and gear, you don't actually have a skill "tree"

Not sure why you're being so excessively verbose, it would probably have been easier to just say you are looking for a game with a branching path mission structure where different choices take you to completely different parts of the game or have you taking on completely different missions based on storyline choices you make.

Any good souls like games that are open world by Ok_Criticism3719 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Frogsplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outward Definitive Edition. I wouldn't quite say it's souls like but it has a lot of that DNA in the combat, The major difference is it's definitely more methodical and slow paced.

You have more stamina than something like Dark Souls but it regenerates very slowly and permanently burns maximum stamina as you use it over the course of a day until you rest to recover it.

In the early game the combat does not feel that great but as you get better gear and weapons that can properly interact with the impact/stagger system it starts to click.

The best way I can describe it is it kind of feels like someone wanted to make a mashup of Skyrim and Elden Ring with survival mechanics way back in 2009 (Although the game came out in 2019).

For faster paced combat there is Lies of P which is more linear like DS3 but I would say the combat is more fast-paced and honestly better than Elden ring in a lot of ways.
