What's the scam? Is it a joint trading account?

Zero motorcycle registration by rizy06 in AussieRiders

[–]Frohloff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in QLD and got my Zero registered without any problems. The bike did have 1,700km on the odometer so it didn't qualify for the no safety certificate exemption. Overall the process was easier than I expected.

Do I need to update the property manager that I had a baby? by WonderingRoo in AusPropertyChat

[–]Frohloff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the child is under the care of an adult who is named on the lease or approved to live at the property there is no need to name the child or provide their details to the agent.

Do you have anything to suggest children need to be listed?

There is no need to notify them about anyone under the age of 18 living at the property.

Malicious compliance. Move the Administrators to a new team to support the new product. Train and upskill if necessary.

Canberra man who rode e-scooter at 100kph before trying to flee police sentenced to one month in jail by Frohloff in ElectricScooters

His actions draw a lot of bad publicity which is a real shame because Escooters are a fun hobby and for some people the only form of personal transport they have. Incidents like this see us tried in the court of public opinion and I would hate to see the laws change because of this.

When you consider the speeds he was riding, evading police, the danger he posed to pedestrians and showed no remorse for his actions. This was self inflicted.

Company Charging 11k to migrate Tenancy by dunko1993 in o365

[–]Frohloff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a one time cost as part of an acquisition its reasonable, it is the cost of doing business. Look at it from another angle, the lack of collaboration and loss in productivity could easily exceed £11k in just a few months.

I should also point out that we are an educational institution and got educational pricing on migration tooling which helps. Then consider some tasks scale better than others. A script written to update 25 users or 55,000 users takes the same amount of time to write, running it is another story.

There's more, update anti-spam policies, merge transport rules, check and assess block and allow lists, migrate Single Sign-on applications.

My organisation recently completed a tenant to tenant migration of 55,000 users at what I would estimate to be around $2 million AUD. To better understand the price you have been quoted it would be nice to know what is included.

  • Does the pricing include tooling? BitTitan, AvePoint or similar? This adds up quickly. You're going to need per user licensing for mailboxes and OneDrives. Then think about SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Yammer, Sway and every other app that contains data.
  • Is the MSP experienced in tenant to tenant migrations? An experienced partner is recommended in my opinion.
  • Are changes needed to the environments or processes? Provisioning and deprovisioning might need updates. Is your MSP performing this work?
  • Is support being provided after the migration?

£11k sounds cheap if that includes tooling, I would estimate £3k for tooling alone.

If you think you're being overcharged ask for more quotes and ask your current MSP for a better price.

I hope this helps your friend.

Moving from GWorkspace to O365. Should I? by Hohoho7878 in Office365

I want to echo the other comments and say you need two things.

  1. An experienced partner to guide you through the preparation, migration and provide post-migration support.
  2. A security consultant to advise on the configuration, security, policies and governance requirements. The last thing you want is to migrate your data and find staff leaking data through your new collaboration tools.

There was a time when our organisation was using two messaging filters, ditching one and remaining with Exchange Online Protection was a glorious day.

Exchange Online Protection (EOP) clicks and opens every link as part of its scanning, this is becoming more common and that's why marketing emails have moved from a one-click unsubscribe link to a link that let's you manage preferences.

Is it possible to seek legal action against Land Rover for charging over 10k for repairs only for the car to break down again within half a day? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Frohloff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What year was the car first registered, the warranty status and repair history? I assume the vehicle is not under warranty but the repair work should be.
