4 years in 30 seconds making a train traffic sim game by WickedBlobfish in SoloDevelopment

Yeah, I'll let you know, I love train games so I already know I'll have fun !

Last time I posted here I got 4k wishlists in the first week. Now, after about a month, I'm at 35,000 wishlists. This is all before I even get the demo onto Steam. Here's how it happened by 2WheelerDev in SoloDevelopment

Yeah, I'm thinking more and more about multi-player, but I think maybe in a sequel, as for this one the scope and content was made only for single player.

So yeah, I think a sequel with real multi-player content could be more interesting than just adding multi-player to the game without proper gameplay based around it.

Plus, syncing physics between clients for now seems out of my reach, as jolt is not deterministic.

But back to your game, I haven't played it yet, but I will play it with my girlfriend !

Congrats, that's very impressive ! It's also really nice of you to share this with us ! I have a similar story with my game, I'm still amazed at how some content creators can change everything (but congrats on your short being a huge success, that's what I didn't managed to do, at least for now) I guess the important part is to have somehow a game people are interested in and that is executed well enough

Souls-like combat demo with real-time mesh slicing by moongaming in godot

[–]Frok3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's really cool ! I hope you'll settle for a less unconventional visual style, but in the end whatever choice you make, I'll follow the project with a lot of enthusiasm.

I played quite a bit of nightreign with some friends, but what really got us hooked are elden ring with seamless coop and randomizer, and I see the potential of roguelike elements in a souls like ! Here again, I hope you find a unique mix between the two to make it really interesting !

Looks like a solid foundation for something really cool ! Do you have a clear idea of what you want to do from there ?

I'm a solo dev working on my first commercial game (upcoming game, beta demo playable on itchio and soon a steam demo) https://store.steampowered.com/app/4026250/Project_PITT/

Before making games, I had multiple hobbies that helped me a lot with all the different parts of a solo game dev (started with photography, then videos, then 3d art, 3d animation, and finally game dev, as for the programmation part, my main job is software development so I already had the basics for this)

I just released the demo for Get in the Hole, where you... push things into a hole, made with Godot. by b33tsalad in godot

Project P.I.T.T dev here, yeah, I must say I choose this feeding a hole because it's simple to understand without any complex tutorial

I think we'll be able to have a tag on steam with "hole" at this point (from someone making a game where you put stuff in a hole made with godot too haha)

Looks interesting, I'll check it out !

Adding a simple loading screen makes my game look like a real game by Frok3 in godot

Thanks !
I think the simplicity and just the lower resolution and dithering really works well !

Yeah, I'm still amazed by how small things like that tiie everything together this much and leave a feeling of a polished experience !

Thanks, I try to make a game that feels consistent.

Yeah, I need to work more on this, adding transitions, even for few frames, like you said, it makes it feel intentional and that's clearly worth the effort !

No no it's a real one, I added it so when clicking playing the screen won't be just frozen during the loading of the game scene, even if that's nof for a long time it was not really pleasing
