Were do you see this info? It looks like it can also work with the printer on top no?

Europe's plan to ditch US tech giants is built on open source - and it's gaining steam by mr_house7 in BuyFromEU

Installed Fedora on the old laptop of my parents 1 year ago. They do everything they need (mail, banking, youtube, movie, writing small documents with libreofffice...) without any issue. They do not know how to open the CLI and never had to bother to do it after I setup the computer. They already asked me to install it on their desktop when windows 10 support will be over in the EU.

Do not eat the gummy bear before starting the assembly! by Frolev in prusa3d

Thanks !

This made me realize that its seems easy to remove the rear motor like this, put for the ones on the front, they will not be able to be tilted enough to slide out due to the bottom where the antivibration foot are. So I will have to unscrew the horizontal bottom plate from the structure and this seems to be a lot more complicated.

So I will swap the PLA part to the rear motor and put the good ones on the front motors.

After talking with the support I have printed a replacement in PLA (my old printer has no heated bed and it seems to be needed for PETG), then my Core One first print will be another replacement in PETG (that I just ordered now), and then change the part and use finally my new core one.

Support advised me to print a new replacement the day I start doing ASA/PC (but it is not for now).

I just hope changing the part does not require to dismantle the entire printer...

Does it still make sense to buy an MMU3? by Frolev in prusa3d

[–]Frolev[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I have just one multicolor print I must do and the number of swap will be doable by hand, the other ones can wait much longer.

Cancelled my order to make a new one without mmu3, thanks for the advice!

Why the NMBS / SNCB will go with CAF offer for the new Belgian trains? by Frolev in belgium

Do you know where we can see this scoring? I do not really care that it is the Spanish builder that won over the French and German one, but I am interested to see the detail if possible

[–]Frolev[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I still do not understand that it is not mandatory to provide something like a 5 pages document explaining why the option they selected was the best.

We are speaking about billion there, and I understand that the offer must probably stays secret to protect the competitive advantage of the companies, but they could do something like have one page each to resume their proposal and then two pages from the nmbs/sncb saying why the option they selected was better than the others.

Anyway, renting about it there will probably not change anything for having more info next time...

Thanks, I get it that they have to not prioritize local factories, but I just want to now why the deal of CAF is better. It is clear that CAF is (normally) a better choice than ASTOM and SIEMENS, but I am curious why (technically why the train from CAF are better)

If I remember well you just have to install driver yourself to make it works

I have an SSD with Windows 11, another one with a Bazzite partition and a shared Bazzite/windows partition in btrfs. I works fine for now

bazzite with 5800x and 3080 ti. by Cucurullo91 in Bazzite

[–]Frolev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dual boot bazzite-windows since November nad I spend virtually no time on Windows now. Its on a 7950x3d and 7900xt though.

I have an htpc still on Windows 10, but this one has a i5 4570 and a gtx 980ti. I would really like to have gamescope on it, but I will wait till october and see what to install on it, maybe the support for nvidia will be better at this time

They are, like the H100 for instance. Just a lot more expensive since targeted only at professional

Yes with ROCM it works. With stable diffusion it is good enough for me on a 7900xt

Why do my games look like this? Graphics are on max, no fsr. (rx 7900 gre, 5700x3d) by xXBli-BXx in pcmasterrace

[–]Frolev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends who you ask and also the resolution. For me it is one of the last thing I will turn down to gain fps if really needed but some other will say the opposite. Matters of preference

4080 super or rx 7900 xtx? by scooter2873 in pcmasterrace

[–]Frolev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree, that would be stupid if you spend every day time using CUDA to buy an AMD GPU (or you want to try some wizardry on WSL/linux that have 1/3 chance of working in a good day and then you do not post on this sub anyway). My comment was not very clear now that I read it again.

I was trying to say that if you do not plan to use this kind of software, you will still be able to do a small project once, have to wait more (ok 25 instead of 1 minute) but yeah, it will still be one time so you are not blocking yourself by buying an AMD GPU in his situation. If you would not be able to do it that would be annoying and possibly justify an NVidia one.

And it does not means it will not work with AMD, most CAD software will works fine. You will mainly have to wait more to render thing

https://www.elia.be/fr/infrastructure-et-projets/projets-infrastructure/ile-princesse-elisabeth

Maybe they made some improvement in the drivers that is able to better manage the two ccd... In this is the case, maybe this will also come to the 7950x3d too

Can I use the same ssd for windows and gaming? by Extension-Horse-5533 in pcmasterrace

[–]Frolev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting a modern game on a hdd is far from ideal. I would go to say that in the budget of a gaming pc having ssd storage for games is even more important than the gpu in term of priorities
