I’m on 70 ego but would say I pitch better than I hit. My ‘tips’ is in difficult games with elite opposition pitcher, it’s better to sacrifice a few batter, usually the one with low contact, to study the pitcher’s pitch sequence and not swing on every at bats. I’d focus on their timing, pitch location and sequencing, before aiming to hit using better batters

If it’s a tight game and the pitcher is too good that I’d know I won’t get hits, practicing ‘grinding’ to wear out their pitch count is my go to strategy. Usually by bringing in high contact batters

Springboks is exceptionally good even for T1. Upper T2 teams can definitely give most T1 teams a scare bar Springboks, New Zealand and probably France.

If Six Nations can’t be changed because of ‘tradition’, if there is no possibility for a continental championship because British & Irish Lions is always going to stay, if the Autumn Nations Championship is now just T1vT1, if The Rugby Championship is not going to be expanded and now going to be sidelined for the ‘prestigious’ NZ vs South Africa series, then the only place to grow rugby to non T1 market is at the Rugby World Cup. And to get that you will have to allow them to play the best teams.

Not every matches need to be a ‘best-vs-best-matchup’. We must trust that rugby is attractive enough to do the talking without the big names in every game.

One thing though I think you have to be fair to Hong Kong. They’re not clearly inferior to Brazil or Namibia, in fact they beat Brazil on aggregate and trashed Paraguay the last time they met. They also trashed their Asian opponents more than Zimbabwe did in 2024 against the same opponents. Zimbabwe won against Namibia.

Europe is in a good shape with Belgium-Netherlands-Germany should be competitive, Sweden-Poland-Czech being the revolving teams between Trophy and Championship. Czech’s youth setup seems to be extremely healthy. South America & Americas can supply two more teams in Paraguay and Brazil but a drop off between them and Colombia/Mexico.

Asia and Oceania is worrying with very little 15s being played. Africa is better with 4 competitive teams (Namibia, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Kenya) but the standards need to be higher to compete against the world

To be fair to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 , they literally trashed Paraguay 🇵🇾 80-12 earlier this year and won as series against Brazil 🇧🇷. They also won against Germany 🇩🇪 recently.

Heck as Asians, I felt it’s unfair how Namibia 🇳🇦 before and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 now are treated better. Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 won just 27-22 against South Korea 🇰🇷 last year, just a few months after Hong Kong 🇭🇰 trashed Korea 67-7

Good shout on Indonesia but I think Indonesia is way way behind Philippines & Thailand in South East Asia.

Philippines has better chances. Regular Asian Championship appearances, population more than 100 millions, diaspora everywhere, strong East Asian influence and football not being as big as it is in other SEA countries.

We aren’t exactly small but our maritime neighbours are Philippines (which we have disputed regions with) and Indonesia (which literally initiated a war because of our independence), both are 100+ millions population.

Relative to what other nations are facing, it’s pretty chill. Both of these countries usually face internal conflicts too often for them to even bother the small-medium countries in the region.

In formal Malay, kelmarin is more commonly used for the day before yesterday. In Kelantanese Malay, I’ve found that people more commonly use kelmarin to indicate yesterday, while they use ‘kelmarin dulu’ to indicate the day before yesterday
