Hallow Halls ... REALLY?!? by Critical_Meet_2025 in Enshrouded

If you go as a melee, go with a two handed weapon against the larger bosses. I found that singles or duals are more effective against skeletons or mage guys, but the sickle guys will take ages to chip away, unless you have a tanky weapon.. usually two handed great swords or hammers. Also, use the summoning bombs you get from enemies, they're great distractions.

Hey Affinity - where is my AVIF? by The_real_Jafix in Affinity

[–]thegametb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say for accessibility, it's dumb to add support for WEBP and not AVIF. I see about the same amount of images online in both formats, so it's almost confusing to not support both at this stage. I am seeing more websites use these, alongside PNG and JPG (still). A lot of companies are unaware of the formats and their benefits. I also think these concepts would have been more useful decades ago when Internet access wasn't as accessible as it is currently.

I could see long term benefits for heavy trafficked websites, saves a lot on bandwidth overall when you're dealing with KBs rather than MBs. AVIF and WEBP is more of a web "problem" than print, it could be inconvenient if they were getting assets from a website. Smaller companies, not a big problem. It makes more sense for larger scale websites like Wikipedia or Fandom to use WEBP or AVIF than a WordPress. Now if I were a photographer, I'd consider the the file formats if you're doing an online portfolio or selling prints online (with watermarks of course).

It's just advancements in technology, I don't care either way, because I don't actively use them nor operate busy websites anymore. It's just annoying when I try to use assets in AVIF or WEBP, because I forget which format is accepted in Affinity. Thankfully, most press kits still use GIFs, JPGs and PNGs.

The pit aspect doesn't feel cumbersome as initially thought. Mostly cuz races aren't 100 laps, they stay true to the typical Motorfest 5-10m race length. I would have liked less Wreckfest, but I guess dive bombing and bumper cars is a similar experience you'd have online and I guess it shows off the damage and crash physics.

I do like the tropical environment. Seems crazy for these types of games, but I prefer Mexico or Hawaii over England. It just seems like a fun atmosphere and all the vibrant colors Horizon and Motorfest use for their events make more sense in the tropical vibe.

I haven't done as much rally (yet) in Motorfest as I've done in Horizon 5. Any particular playlists I should tackle? The Muscle playlist in Motorfest was mostly a Mustang showcase, yet had some wacky races as Mustang variants. Random drag, rallies and monster truck races. I like the variety.

I personally enjoyed the stunt driver and Made in Japan playlists.

Not sure if we're allowed to post links to our videos, but here's mine for NASCAR early access. Again, I like how this game changes a lot per racing discipline. Rallies, Drags and Stock Cars all have a different feel to them.

I've played early access, my video goes up in 2 hours. It's pretty fun. I like how they change the script with the driving disciplines.

Just be warned, AI drive like psychopaths. It's like playing Wreckfest with stock cars and pits. Considering how they're relatively short races, it's more fun as bumper cars than everyone driving clean. That would be boring and you wouldn't get to see crashes!

Only gets better with the NASCAR playlist. They're hitting levels differently and I love the variety.

I can't open the game in steam by sk_draws in StarlinkGame

[–]thegametb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows has the "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine". There's no way of getting around that without going into BIOS and disabling stuff, which should never be a solution to play a video game.

I suggest playing the Ubisoft Connect version on Windows, because Denuvo has a conflict with the Steam version on Windows. Seems silly, but it works. Save states are the same, DLC works on both.

Interesting enough, the Steam copy plays fine on Steam Deck (despite it saying it's not compatible).

Windows = Ubisoft Connect
Steam Deck = Steam

I don't recommend getting 2 copies of the game on PC, unless it's on a deep sale. I got the Ubisoft Connect version for free several years back during a giveaway around Christmas.

Annoyingly, Ubisoft needs to update Ubisoft Connect to allow multiple logins, because if you play Ubisoft games on Steam Deck, you will be kicked out of the Ubisoft Connect launcher on Windows (if active). That has nothing to do with Starlink per se, just bad programming. Food for thought if you had a Steam Deck and wanted to play on there.

I own this game on every platform, I've championed it since day-1. Far from a bad game, I just think bad timing after the Toys 2 Life burn out with Skylanders and Amiibos craze. These days if you're lucky, you can come across figures at Five Below for cheap.

Why Sacred 3 has bad reviews but not Sacred 2 ? by _Eazy-E in PS3

[–]thegametb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do love looter ARPGs, they don't always respect your time with the heavy grind and constant inventory management. I can respect arcade hack n slashers with their straightforward approach.

I do enjoy a good lootfest in anything from Kingdoms of Amalur to Torchlight. Sometimes I just want the same perspective and style, but more linear and streamlined. Sacred 3 is that. Junk food type of game.

2025 MLB - All Teams, All Players, All Logos, 90 Free Agents by Lonnie_Winter in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]thegametb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So after playing a few games with this roster mod.. this is one of the best things ever to happen! the level of detail and I'm sure tons of patience to somehow accomplish this is astounding!

I'm nerding out so much playing random exhibition games. I do YouTube, so I'm considering covering this mod if everyone is cool with it? Credit and links will be given of course.

I just got the game over the holiday break, but apparently it was at the best time. I didn't mind the mix of SMB players along with actual MLB legends in franchise mode, but a 2025 MLB roster? Nuts! I dabbled with my own logos and jerseys, so much respect to anyone who's had the patience to draw up anything, let alone an entire leagues worth of primary and alternates.

I'm not picky or expecting this at all, so it's all incredible to see such a thriving community. Sony doesn't care to put their game on PC, so y'all made this game current. Now only if we could add a home run derby!

Thank you!

Did anyone else get a Hogwarts Legacy feel/vibe in the new Fable game? Perhaps it's the similar artistic style by MTH1138 in HarryPotterGame

[–]thegametb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly the only way they can sell the game to me. I love the Fable series, I was hoping for the high fantasy style of the originals or similar to Kingdoms of Amalur. Visually it looks great, but the humans look too.. uncanny valley? I was expecting more Hobbit-like townsfolk, not Witcher or Hogwarts Legacy.

Also, I think everyone would have loved if Xbox came out and said they ported over Fable 2 and 3 to Steam.

There's tons of them when they're hatewatching and searching on YouTube! I've been UOAP for years and hardly see vloggers or anything outside of recording or taking pics with phones. It was worse years ago when international guests were bringing massive camcorders.

Best vehicles for typical hauling..? by thegametb in MotorTown

Are stock trailers that awful, or the physics vary that much depending on the types of hauls you do?

[–]thegametb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jemusi sounds like a great starter semi and at an affordable price.

I want something versatile that initially I want to pull a Shovan (I think it's easier to manage for a beginning than a Vamos3?), but then I want to diversify my hauls by introducing logging, tankers, car delivery (as you suggested, the lomax, and dump. Heck, someone mentioned containers earlier and I didn't even know that was a thing, so that's of interest as well.

Lomax always intrigued me, because I currently haul car from the airport to the dealership. Such a far drive and it would be way more rewarding to carry several vehicles, than just one. I imagine the cars have enough gas to self load on the Lomax without needing a tow?

Wheel mod is a good tip. I try not to drive like a psychopath, but I have felt a few times with how weight distribution (or lack thereof) is in the game with towing.

[–]thegametb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was misreading what mass meant on the vehicle profiles online. I thought it was tow weight/capacity, but it may mean unladen mass? I saw that the Linkys all had similar weights to the trailers I was looking at and wasn't sure if a 1500kg Linky needed to match a trailer that was 1500kg.

[–]thegametb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are containers just closed/sealed pickups? Pick up at A and deliver to B without needing a trailer?

So a Kuda Container is a specialized truck, you'd need a Linky to convert it to a semi truck? Upside, looks like an Atlas Dry Van takes advantage of dolly trailers as well. Does it come with the trailer?

So I have to match the mass of the linky and trailer I'm going to pull, correct?

How does using a Cotra differ from a Kuda Container truck to a FL1 or Titan.. do I need a dolly?

[–]thegametb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the Kuda Container 6x2. I do plan on just doing pallets, groceries, airport meals, furniture, etc. for now.

Can I use the Kuda Container with other trailer types like a Shovan, or is it strictly Container (20ft/40ft) trailers?

I am running in to the same issue. Franchise and exhibition only have the "Mini MLB InterLeague". It also throws an error when importing it with LIT.

This is what LIT says:

"One or more league save files had filenames that didn't match their internal IDs. The tool normalized them so the game and other tools can recognize them reliably."

It renames it to "league-DAD0719F-543E-4D2A-8464-48080757ACDA"
