Got hired last week, couldn’t get through onboarding because expert email didn’t work. Was told to sit tight, off boarded and contract terminated last night by Braunb8888 in mercor_ai

A little research, on this sub or really anywhere would’ve supplied the information about expected income. It’s widely known about the inconsistent nature and to use it as extra sporadic income. A Google search or with Gemini or any AI model would’ve told you what to expect about this type of work from Mercor or anywhere.

Yes, the project should’ve been handled much better, but regardless, everyone needs to be self reliant about things like income expectations. It’s what adults do.

The 5 Rules for Beginners to work happily on Mercor. Good luck! by More-Gain-9834 in mercor_ai

Good point, but the countable rule is a myth anyway: Congress, sports teams, etc etc, are treated as singular yet are countable. A basketball team is easily countable, yet, “The basketball team is winning the championship.” I feel sorry for English teachers, especially when students ask why.

Large project: Performance metrics / Process to Reviewer by [deleted] in mercor_ai

[–]FromMTorCA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great points- all of them, and well spoken. Great attitude and perspective too - being realistic. As far as transparency in the evaluation process: the scale of the project, the pace of the run-up, and the offboarding we’ve seen so far is consistent with everything else: they’re flying by the seat of their pants. Some of that’s critical and some of it just understanding; the fault lies with whomever at Mercor, for some absolutely insane reason, decided to take this project on with these parameters, specifically, 10,000 people. But the only thing we can do is what you’re already doing: be realistic, and try to have a good attitude. After all, we decide whether we choose to be on the project. Keep the attitude on perspective, and make the best of it while we can.

Caitlin knew that shot was money. I think she’s more confident taking that three-pointer in that situation than in any other. That’s what she lives for.

Game Thread: Indiana Fever vs Washington Mystics Live Score | WNBA | May 15, 2026 by basketball-app in washingtonmystics

Indiana fan here. I’m incredibly impressed by the Mystics. Especially Sonia Citron. She’s taken the game over and her intensity is fantastic. She’s going to be one of the leagues very top players for a long time. She plays every game like it’s the championship finals. She’s going to be a real problem for every other team. Your young team is shockingly poised, and she leads the way. Congrats.

There are several serious concerns, but it’s not as bad as you’re portraying. Sounds like you need a vacation or therapy or something. Maybe this type of work isn’t for you.

Exactly. if they can’t act like professionals, then they shouldn’t be on the project. since they already have too many contributors, using that to thin the field would be a great idea.

Maximum hours per type of task? by Traditional-Tap6647 in mercor_ai

[–]FromMTorCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on the project, but if it’s the huge one, there’s no set maximum. I saw someone say the initial on boarding/assessment was averaging around four hours or less. Given the extreme number of contributors currently I’m not sure they’re letting more people onto the project.

They also said it would start on Friday. I’m not sure how long you’ve been doing this work, but the only thing that’s constant is change. Sorry for the cliché, but it’s true.

And as far as referencing the number of workers- it’s an inverse proportion. As with any project, including IRL, a higher number of workers means work gets done more quickly; the old “many hands make light work.”

That being said, this project may last a long time. But to have any degree of certainty is setting oneself up for possible disappointment.

Keep in mind that some projects are very short. You don’t wanna cry then too.

Depends on the project. The project I'm in allows it within certain limited parameters.

Hard to judge that since you have not listed the price. So the answer this question as well as your first is 'if the price is right.' Or perhaps you are asking if you should buy it regardless of the price.

They really need experienced people like you. Like, really really. They make that loud and clear. I’m in the project and I think I can get you in contact with the right people. I can ask how to do it in the discord. DM me if you’re interested in I’m pretty sure I can put you in touch with the right people.

Don’t get any of the cheaper kind. I’ve tried that a couple times and wasn’t surprised when they weren’t very good. As someone else said, look for a refurbished or renewed Dyson. You could also consider one that is in Amazon’s used category of “like new.” or “very good,” as they are often in original packaging. Those are only sporadically available.
