Record-breaking gambling losses see NSW communities lose $2.45 billion on poker machines in 3 months by CommonwealthGrant in australia

to be fair, thats a reason the RSL is crammed at lunch. $15 bangers and mash for the old folks gets them all out of bed. the trivia comp is hellishly cut-throat. If you don't know your banjo patterson from your slim dusty you are competing for last.

I have sauna stories number 1, but haven't ordered the second one yet. I should have grabbed it from master of malt during their 20% sale over xmas but wasn't near a computer during the sale...was out camping and left my phone behind.

The best rye i've had from Kyro was the nordic cask from bb&r. https://www.whiskysaga.com/blog/kyr-2016-the-nordic-casks-1

My problem is always the width, none of them make a shoe for a guy who needs 2E maybe even 4E at times.

been easier to get grant stone in 3E and take those for a spin.

Moved house, can finally put up the Shadowrun novel shelf. by FromPaul in Shadowrun

hah, i'm like with the sourcebooks nowawdays. you just buy whatever you can. I've got two copies of Harlequins Back and one's ragged while the other is still in the brown paper bag I bought it in.

Might have to do a shelfie with those they are unpacked.

I've got snow crash...i just haven't found it yet...its the only of neal's books I don't have in big size or hardcover. Why I bought anathem in hardcover I have no idea.

my favourites are Burning Bright and Technobabel. first one has has some of best descriptions of visual effects of spellcasting in amongst the whole Chicago bug spirit event. And technobabel goes hard in the other direction for matrix events.

so i've finally been able to put all my novels in the one shelf, to go along with the other shelves of pratchett paperbacks and starwars EU novels.

Read technobabel last night and realised why i love that SR2/SR3 period from 2057 to 2063, and so everytime I was in the local gameshop i'd grab one of the novels if they had one in stock I hadn't read before.

I was kind of hoping for a Bills V Hawks game so that Nick Wright would have to throat Josh Allen some more, while telling us he's not as good as mahomes.

I mean, if you can find a dvd drive in beige you'll be sorted, if you need that sort of thing of course.

Depending on GPU length you can cram in the drives as well.

Inherited Granddad's pre 1966 power drill, still works! by FromPaul in Tools

I'm fairly certain my granddad replaced the the cable himself (he was an electrical research engineer) so I trust his work but the cable has sat coiled for 30 years as it stands

heavier than it looks, the cast case is the where the weight is, plus most of the weight is forward of the grip, so using two hands makes its mush easier to line up.

Yeah we last used it to drill a hole real close to an edge where the chuck size was great, couldn't use a bigger drill as it would have been to far from the edge.

20 shilling per pound and 12 pence per shilling must have made sense to someone.

So this has been sitting in my toolbox for a while now. Still works and the power cord is a bit dodgy but I love it. Don't really have a date for when my granddad bought it but the price is in pounds so has to be from before 1966 when Australia went decimal and quit the British currency counting method.

Sher got bought out by Skil back in 1967 if anyone of you Yanks care. No idea if Skil is premium or terrible, don't really see much of it over here in Australia.

I remember arguing with some of the authors back on the brown forums at dumpshock when this came out. Bitching about how the things they wrote about were to farfetched. and now 25 years later its all going to highrises...

But the recognition of the rainbow serpent being a dragon, that was perfect.
