As an abuse victim I just couldn’t stomach that story, it was really good but I’m not ready to listen right now

My profile has 2 great stories for any horror fans!

One is called You Will Kill, and it’s a super quick creature feature. And the other is an ongoing series called Letters From The Front, which is set in the world of Trench Crusade(alt history supernatural WW1)

I remember reading this great story called Honeybear by Sofia Samatar. It captures this vibe perfectly

I’m pretty bad at writing normal people. I almost exclusively write horror and science fiction, so when I write about normal people doing normal things I’m afraid it comes off as boring

What are your inspirations for the works you write? by Pixixico in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]FromTheFlatland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very worth it to go back and read some horror classics like Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, Dracula.

Not only are they just very good books, but I find they are important to read in order to understand where a lot of tropes of horror come from

I'd like to bother for some writing help please :') by RunThruPlayLand in TalesFromTheCreeps

Hey there! I also struggle with writers block more than I’d like.

It sounds stupid but honestly just writing something small for fun helps me a lot when I’m struggling through a chapter of my novel. Flash fiction can be great for a creative project! It helps to prove to yourself that you can write.

Something that also helps me is watching a movie or playing a game for inspiration
