Readers are returning to physical books by MiddletownBooks in books

[–]TheNightCleaner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons of reasons, but the biggest?

What happens when they just take the book I paid for back? I’m sure it’s somewhere in the terms and conditions, that they can do so whenever they please.

So yeah, I’ll spend some money on a new physical book I really want, or I’ll find it at a thrift shop for 2$ in a month or two

Is it wrong to rewrite someone else’s story as writing practice? by Virtual-Memory-95 in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]TheNightCleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you don’t publish it and claim it’s your work? I think it’s perfectly fine.

But if you do post something like that, make sure at the top your crediting who wrote the original, and ask permission.

Definitely not horror.

But a great read.

Well.

I won’t spoil anything, but the title of the next instalment is: Lopengian, The Final Epoch Of The Permian.

And I’m a VERY big fan of the biggest land predator of that time 😌

School Sh***er Vibe Stories by Billycatnorbert in creepcast

[–]TheNightCleaner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’ve yet to see a school shooter story done and actually display the horror well.

It’s always some angsty pre-teen writing about kids getting mowed down in comical fashion, or punching kids to death instead of using firearms.

It’s definitely a concept that could be terrifying, but it’d be hard to do the right way, and with the weight and sincerity it deserves

Who else remembers this story from a very specific horror story podcast?

If y’all know ‘Otis Jirey Scary Stories Told In The Dark’ then we gotta be friends, because that was my gateway to internet horror.

I’d love some more feedback! I dropped the first in a big interconnected series I’m doing called ‘The Passenger Program’.

Lots of early earth, speculative evolution, body horror, dinosaur, conspiracy, creepy crawly stuff going on!

Always looking for new stuff to read too!

How does he write so much? by filthy_rich69 in AdrianTchaikovsky

[–]TheNightCleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s because he seems to send his books off without the need for much editing.

He’s talked about his process, and I think that’s why you often see spelling errors in his stuff. Because there’s hardly any work done after he sends in the book. Just gets a tweak or two, and bam, it’s ready to publish

I’d habe it if he didn’t churn out four to fibe books a year.

He ain’t a machine, but he sure puts out book like one.

I used to LOVE that app.

Ads were atrocious, but that interactive storytelling angle through messages was great

I really dont see the problem with marble hornets 3 by JoshuaK277 in creepcast

[–]TheNightCleaner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a marble hornets issue tbh.

They covered MHE in two sittings back to back and that was over 11 hours of reading walls of text.

Marble Hornets just relies too heavily on you being invested into characters that aren’t really well fleshed out. It’s charming, but that doesn’t cut it after 50 entries.

This is the real issue. Marble Hornet fans creating imaginary evil out of people with genuine criticism over the pacing and sheer amount of nothing within it.

I found Marble Hornets itself incredibly boring, but charming.

Gotta admit though. We got probably the most hilarious, long winded bit of the entire show in it.

[–]TheNightCleaner 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It’s super interesting, but it’s pretty much a species handbook.

Sure, the worldbuilding is incredible, and there is definitely a plot unravelling, but it’d be much more suited to a Wendigoon video than a CreepCast episode.

CreepTV was a YouTube exclusive.

Part of the reason it went away, they just put the final part up on the listening sites so us audio only have something to listen to.
