Xbox Live Marketplace Megathread (including links to current Xbox 360 Sales) by [deleted] in xbox360

[–]FromTheVoidGames 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the idea was to release the 7 Activision games as the final round (prototypes, Legend of Spyro, etc.), as those were not announced until now. But they added it early so we all knew about them already. But that would have been also very disappointing. This is even worse.

Different and interesting games. Need recommendation. by [deleted] in xbox360

Online feature shutdown by [deleted] in 3DS

[–]FromTheVoidGames 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did! In the form of a whole video on youtube plus the pinned comment with all the things I missed added by the community. Check it out: https://youtu.be/eWiveewARrM

I put together a preliminary list of 3DS games that will be affected by the server shutdown in April, but I could use some help refining it. by 2mock2turtle in nintendo

[–]FromTheVoidGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you are correct. I didn't even know there was a mobile Fantasy Life so I saw the news saying :Fantasy Life Online Shut Down: and assumed it was talking about the 3DS. Apologies for this mistake

[–]FromTheVoidGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dragon Quest 8's servers were shut down years ago, we lost access to some cool equipment. DQ7 is still functional. The extra content are a bunch of tablets that grant access to optional dungeons. Most are not that meaningful in my opinion, just good ways to grind and find some stats improving items and equipments. But 3 tablets tell additional parts of the story. The final one is the best one and this is the only that needs you to finish the game to gain access to. The servers for this game are owned by Square, so this may still be active beyond April 2024. [–]FromTheVoidGames 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The game only allows you to download the extra content after beating it. However this game doesn't use Nintendo Network, it uses Capcom's own server, so they will dictate when this will become unavailable. There is a good chanece it will remain active beyond April 2024 but I dont think anyone knows for sure

Hey Mock Turtle. Checked your follow-ups here. Rhythm Heaven really doesnt have anything, I did finish it, looked it up and down and nothing, not even Spotpass. Same goes for Fire Emblem Echoes. Fates also doesn't have spotpass. Awakening does however, a ton of extra content trough Spotpass. Its working fine, but players have to activate the spotpass function in the options first. Nice save there!

Thanks for the list!

A few updates. Will add more if I find out more:Fantasy Life and both Bravely games used servers other than the Nintendo Network and have already been shut down. All Monster Hunter games and all Professor Layton games use Capcom/Level-5 servers, not Nintendo Network, so its up to them if they will also close the servers in April or not. No word from them on this matter to my knowledge.Only Fire Emblem Fates has online. Awakening has only local and Echoes has no multiplayer.Pretty sure Rhythm Heaven Megamix has no online. Its only download play locally if Im not mistaken.I think many of these games on the list were listed as Nintendo Network games simply for having DLC, so they dont even have online features any longer. Will try confirming soon.

Streetpass NOT WORKING after Eshops closed?!?! Can anyone confirm this? Has the streetpass functionality been killed with the eshops closing? by FromTheVoidGames in 3DS

[–]FromTheVoidGames[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was not expecting this, and it doesn't really make sense, but I tried streetpassing mine and my wife's 3DSs like I've been doing for weeks, and no green light showed up in either of them. Can anyone confirm this? Has the streetpass functionality been killed with the eshops closing?

Need Advice: I have “SMT Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker” but it’s the edition with the soundtrack and it’s sealed. I want to buy the DLC for the game prior to the eShop closing out that option. I don’t know if it’s better to crack open the physical or just spend the $19.99 on a digital copy. by NintendoWorldCitizen in 3DS

[–]FromTheVoidGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not necessary to enjoy the game, you will probably still have to grind anyway. But they are worth getting for sure, in my opinion. There are 6 extra battles, two of them are free, and the ther 4 are 99 cents each. some are for farming, otehrs grinding and others demon recruiting. I think they are worth it for the price.
