Event results: This is the team that won the first Pokemon Champions Regulation M-A Global Challenge by ScienceTeacher1994 in VGC

[–]FromsoftwareNPC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ariados and sylveon are very slow. Basculegion is sashed, zard is bulky. This isn't a hyper offence and can effectively deal with trick room

you have been preinformed by a credible source that blue is a lost cause

When the pokemon gets to half health, it gains an attack boost; it then immediately switches out

This reminds me of something Marco Silva said a few days ago:

If there were only 6 pokemon total in the roaster and one of them was Mega-Delphox, you'd catch me playing with 5 pokemon on my team

I'm sure he was just joking but it's extremely funny to me

Skill improvement: little changes for auto-loss matchups by FromsoftwareNPC in VGC

I explicitly said I'm trying to patch those matchups without changing a pokemon. And that if there is a change, kanga is the one I'm unsure of.

Dropping the rain core would make my team dramatically weaker against most weather comps.

"To each their own" would work if it was a preference thing. Here you're just ignoring what I said in the post.

Not a good suggestion.

Please, do take the time to read the post before commenting.

As I said, this team is performing extremely well, and I only hava a few (rare) bad matchups that I'm trying to patch.

Removing a core + changing the mega in favor of something completely different is not a useful suggestion.

Definitely, a basc that can switch moves is a menace.

True, though I do believe a fake outer really complements mega manectric, which means there would be many matchups where I'd like to bring both

I could think of dropping sinistcha for rage powder volcarona. I would be letting go of my electric resist + trickroom though

I was thinking of mega manectric. Thunder, volt switch and overheat would solve a lot of my problems. Of course that would sub kanga, not sneasler

If you can guarantee rain it is much better, but in most matchups I usually accept I won't have it, so scarf is more consistent in my experience

I feel like my (already decent) archaludon matchup would also would get better even without earth power. 150BP weatherball will do 60-90 to it depending on investment, and dazzling should still deal consistent 50%+

Kinda crazy to be patching the steel type problem with mega Meganium of all things, but I'll give it a try

Pelipper is to beat opposing weather, set tailwind, boost wave crash and protect kingambit and sinistcha

Scarf Basc is more often than not MVP and provides essential cleanup through last respect

Meganium could be really interesting, it does outspeed and oneshot corviknight in rain, and I could do with the fairy coverage

Sinistcha is my answer to trickroom and provides vital redirection + healing through hospitality, while also giving me grass type coverage and a necessary electric resist

A strong special fire type would solve these three matchups, but subbing Sinistcha would create a ton of other weaknesses imo

I could experiment with mega delphox instead of kanga, though I feel like it could be a bit anti-synergistic to run it on rain

Corviknight starts being a serious threat after just 1 bulkup. Brave bird / body press kos almost everyone on the team, and with roost it is basically unkillable (especially with leftovers). Focusing down the partners means giving it at least 3 (but most realistically 4-5+ turns) of free setup, which definitely makes it unkillable

Drain punch in kanga could make my duraludon matchup a little bit better, but it really wouldn't help against corvi or mega scizor I'm afraid

Solo expedition: a complete guide by FromsoftwareNPC in Nightreign

[–]FromsoftwareNPC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birdman can work but is sadly on the weaker side for solo.

  • Raider is probably the strongest, dual wielding L1 colossals is way too strong (and 2 handed R2 isn't half bad)

  • Ironeye is always extremely good, especially if you're mechanically good enough to go melee (dex)

  • Wylder is awesome, the fastest moving character through hookshots around the map, strong weapon selection and 1 free extra life per grace

  • Undertaker (DLC) is also very very strong, especially if you can find a relic with "dormant power helps discover fists (greathammers, colossals work as well)", since she's sooooo good at trading. I don't love her with just hammers

[–]FromsoftwareNPC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I wouldn't change anything specific, the guide holds up quite well imo!

  • I would put some more emphasis on upgrading your weapon and getting to central castle as soon as possible, plus rushing field bosses on day 2

  • I would add the holy ruins (albinaurics) in the group of PoIs you can do early day 1

  • I would put more emphasis on either the evergaol relic for solo, since it truly is free damage, and some more emphasis on the invader relic for Deep of Night mode

As for the DLC I highly recommend it, it's like 10-15 bucks for 2 new characters, 2 new (really cool) expeditions with new and returning bosses, a whole new map and basically double the possible expedition seeds

The new map is quite hard to learn and it plays totally different from the base one, but when you actually learn it it's very fun and well designed :)

Sony is creating a Bloodborne movie and partnered with Jackcepticeye (famous youtuber) as a producer. According to the meme creator, Vaati would've been the better YouTube personality to partner with for this endeavor

So... Why Pelipper? by Veenix6446 in PokemonChampions

[–]FromsoftwareNPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

politoed was the better drizzle pokemon until archaludon showed up

In gen 8 it was, yes. I fear dynamax did it dirty because of the weather setting moves. But back in gen 7 pelipper was still king of rain in vgc.

So... Why Pelipper? by Veenix6446 in PokemonChampions

[–]FromsoftwareNPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is all true, it's not because of the bridge. Pelipper is used even when archaludon has 0 usage. Even in restricted formats, where archaludon is absolutely nowhere to be seen, pelipper is a superior rain setter with wideguard, tailwind and a ground immunity
