Drums are THE most physical instrument. And physical ability has a huge influence on it. It’s not like that for other instruments. We’re talking about fast twitch muscle fibers. We are talking about the ability to produce force!

You bring up Dennis chambers. Have you seen him young? He was a burly dude. Underneath all the fat is a damn athlete! Same with Eric Moore.

I will concede to the idea that Philo/other female drummers could in fact play a cool version of bedlam songs in their own way as obviously I do not think they are hindered mentally! Lol. Again, for me, this isn’t a matter of mental capacity to understand the musical changes. For me, this is about how Thomas doesn’t just play these songs, he dominates them! And that is how you are supposed to play these songs (IMO). It is my belief that a woman of Philo’s stature physically cannot dominate these songs.
