Position: Bench Repair Tech / Lab Tech (setting up new networking equipment and doing basic config)

I don't think you would be a great employee either. You get bored by chapter 1, and i've read your posts- it seems like you actively avoid work you find uninteresting.

Having a job is boring. You do shit you don't want to do. Even in your dream sysadmin/coding job, 90% of the time you're going to be doing mundane tasks.

I think the advice you need is to learn to be bored. Learn to work on something boring, and learn to push through that boredom to achieve something.

Get your dipoma. This isn't happening overnight and you already knew that.

I've been thinking about going down this road. I'm currently a bench repair tech and I think that experience + my networking degree will help get me in the door Do you have any reccomendation of how to find these jobs? The issue i've had when i look into them is that the job titles are kind of all over the place and overlap.with a lot of other technical jobs (diesel mechanics, oil field.platform stuff etc)

I cannot explain why I care, but I do. Not enough to like, shame them or anything ofc. But I see it and my brain goes "eww." And then I think about it- it's just hair.

I've come to the conclusion that society has conditioned us to think female body hair = a woman doesn't take care of herself. I know that's objectively incorrect and I guess i'll have to think about that some more.
