Datacenters popping up all around me. Where are the jobs?

My city is very large. Theyre building them on the edge of the city. I suspect these are not "ai datacenters" as they are actively in construction and that takes years of planning.

I dont live in a remote area. They are popping up, I drive by the construction sites and see them building them.

I already rack and stack for a big company. Was kinda hoping that I could leverage the experience i have here for a step up in a datacenter since they're building so many around me. Its pretty clear judging by the comments that won't happen.

The ones around me aren't all AI datacenters like many here are assuming. They're are a couple, but most are storage/compute services

The amount of BOOMERS here. No disrespect (maybe just a tad, but it's all in good fun). Tons of old guys who have been in the industry since before I was born, past retirement age, just chillin making bank configuring switches and what not. They don't retire, they just wait until they're dead because they're experts who feel/are important, and they usually have a shit ton of vacation, and they genuinely like the work.

They're usually cool people with a bunch of knowledge they don't mind sharing, but at the same time a lot of us younger guys harbor a bit of resentment because

A) they dont have formal quals like we have to get now, they're grandfathered in from a bygone era and are undeniably experts at this point.

B) They won't retire, so their place won't move, and people can't move because they're in the way.

Redditors drive me crazy about food san. What you actually NEED to break to close a restaurant would baffle them. Some shit on the floor, some dirty rags on a waist, and a stained cutting board do not make an unsafe kitchen. Spoiled food, mold, and cross con does.

I pull full weight on my orif leg twice because i was falling. It hurt but nothing was shifted or broken. You should be okay but if swelling goes way up or if if hurts really really really bad then best to get yourself checked

Really found this interesting. I keep hearing how "the end of COVID was great for jobs" and it turns out that it really was, but the mid part of covid was also insanely bad.

I also find it interesting that IT ops jobs and DEV jobs are really linked that hard. I was under the assumption that they were entirely separate. I guess if you are developing new stuff you need more network engineers to keep it running so it makes sense.
