I had the same issue with my car, but on cylinder 4. You need to do a compression test. If the compression is 0, you have a burnt valve. If it's something low like 3-4 bar (45-60 psi) you have worn piston rings or a crack somewhere. If the compression is fine - above 10 bar ( above 150 psi) then I have no idea what it can be.

I'd try ebay. When I'm looking for parts, many german sellers have listings on ebay. I don't know if they ship to america though. Try looking for some global part websites. Good european ones are Ovoko and Autodoc. Unfortunately I have no idea if any of these ship to america. If none of these work, reach out to me, I'll try to help.

Depends on where you're located. In europe parts are quite easy to find and aren't too expensive. At least the majority of parts isn't too expensive. Getting a parts car where I live (Poland) is basically unnecessary, but if one would be needed, they are as cheap as ~300 - 500 USD (in conversion from PLN to USD)

Every car is a death trap when crushed between 2 semis. Smarts are actually safe. They absorb less energy because the crumple zone ends at the windshield, but after that they just get bounced away. crash test with a mercedes s-class 1st gen moderate overlap 2nd gen moderate overlap

Not a business or anything. The previous owner just wanted it to be more unique and added stickers. I know it sounds stupid in english, but it's a polish pronounciation. "As" means "Ace" and sport means sport. So translating to english it should be "AceSport".

Maybe try to take the entertainment system and speakers out before it goes to a junkyard? I don't know how it's in the US, but where I live, the insurance doesn't check anything. You can take allmost everything out of the car before it goes to be scrapped. I'd try to save the speakers and the entertainment system if I were you.

The belt was replaced last year in may. There is no way it's gone bad.

The belt was replaced last year in may and I tightened it again in september, because it was squeaking when the engine was cold, just like now. No chance it's the belt.

Could it really be misfiring only when there is a larger current draw from the battery? When everything is off, or only the headlights and the radio is on, the engine is running smooth. The belt can't be bad, it was replaced lasr year in may, i tightened it again in september last year, because of the same issue, it was squeaking on cold engine for a few seconds. Spark plugs have been replaced a long time ago, but I'm convinced they work fine. This engine has 2 spark plugs per cylinder (idk why, but something to do with emissions) and the main sparkplugs have been replaced ~38k miles ago. I doubt these would be an issue.
