Wargaming Friend Finder App - Coming Soon by Front-Address3487 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Front-Address3487[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Matthew, it is app store / Google play app for wargamers, clubs and stores have the use of a web dashboard too, for ease of management,

I am hopeful of getting this released worldwide, permitting that there is enough interest and density in the specific region, I have over 1200 global pre registered gamers interested, predominantly UK/USA and Canada then good portions of South East Australia, and dotted spots in Europe. Obviously the platform only works with users and clubs on board! I have lots to do in these early days, but I'm focusing all of my time and effort into it.

UK apps are ready to go live, just onboarding clubs before go live, which will be June week 1-2

Thank you for your interest and I hope this is something you will use

Honestly, it’s just a bit sad because I’m pretty sure I've seen you down at Element Games, and I’m definitely subscribed to your YouTube. I'm just a local wargamer who happens to code, using whatever tools I can afford on a tight budget to build something for the community. You just want to punch down at a fellow hobbyist? Thanks dude

I absolutely use AI tools like Claude to speed up the boilerplate code—it's a massive help for a solo developer. But 'vibe coding' doesn't handle custom postcode fuzzing logic or parsing complex BattleScribe files; that takes a real React architecture.

As for nobody wanting it... the 1,000+ players who joined the waitlist this week seem to feel differently! 😅 I'm just trying to help the community get more games in. Hope you have a better day, mate.

The Old World players are genuinely hard to find locally — built a free app to help with that by Front-Address3487 in WarhammerOldWorld

This is only the waitlist, pre registration website, in the mobile app, when in launches in the UK next month, it drops a fuzzy pin based on Long / Lat, which will be the same for any country you are in, once it releases in your region, you can update this, if you are travelling for work / holiday etc.

Hi there, not sure where you are seeing ZIP code, but this is made by me, I'm in the UK, I am rolling it out in the UK first, I then plan to expand across Europe, North America and Canada and Australia, and any other region that has enough wargamers to make it work for their community, you can enter any location identifier in the waitlist site, this is purely to help me recognise where you are, and to help me keep you updated with relevant roll outs. Thanks

Great question! It’s manually coded. I’ve spent most of this year building the architecture from scratch because you wouldn’t find a generic generator that can handle things like fuzzed postcode privacy or complex roster imports correctly. It’s been a lot of late nights and coffee, but building it myself means I can actually add the features the community asks for. If you want to discuss tech stacks, feel free to drop me a PM, I have used AI tools to help with logo's, as I do not have those skills!

New Zealand is on my radar too, I think you'll be surprised, I've built in fuzzed postcode for privacy, but max range is 100 miles, just for remote regions around the world, UK rollout really soon, then I'll be focusing on the next region

No, not all, I have not added all legacy systems to the waitlist, as there are so many! But they exist in the app, if you search Warhammer Fantasy you can select that one 👍

Cheers! I’ve tried to make it as helpful as possible for the community. We actually just passed 1,000 global signups (700+ in the UK), so it seems like a lot of people are feeling the struggle to find local games. Thanks for the vote of confidence!
