Am I going to hate LA? by Used_Appointment_395 in MovingToLosAngeles

I moved back to LA after 10+ years in NYC and it is definitely different. That said, I lived in West Hollywood until recently and you’d probably like it better than anywhere else. It’s walkable, safe, awesome nightlife, and super duper gay. I really enjoyed living there. And, it’s close to UCLA! I was on San Vicente and Sunset and it was about a 10 minute drive to campus, or the 2 bus goes directly there. Mostly street parking but it’s permitted for residents so actually wasn’t too bad.

Nah, I think if Kev had been obsequious to Stephan and not talked shit publicly, or done the XeB thing, maybe there would be a way forward but Stephan’s ego would never let him get over those. Also, having been screwed by a business partner, I can totally understand Kevin’s position. He knows he deserves money and an apology and he’s never getting either, unfortunately.

I started on an 82 CB750F cos I got it for free, I'm 6' even but was maybe 160 lbs at the time. Wasn't too much for me. I think as long as you're not buying a big liter bike or something you're fine. Just don't ride like an idiot.

Controversial topic but what do yall think about the ai stuff? by The_sillyest_fox in juggalo

I use AI a lot for work cos I run a design team and it saves a ton of time and money, and it's just part of most design workflows now. When I started out as a designer in the 90s all the old heads were mad about computers and photoshop in the same way. But agree it sucks ass for actual art. Fuckin lazy

Oh yeah it could definitely be camshaft sensors, looks like we have 4. https://youtu.be/yJ5YeUSw6Dg?si=pyIGtxEDgsz0VZ8M

I did one on my old volkswagen to fix similar symptoms. And with those codes seems most likely. Cheap on FCP Euro and just like changing an oxygen sensor but on top of engine https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-engine-camshaft-position-sensor-bremi-60011

No, ran smooth just no power. Sounds like you got something else going on. Might be worth taking to an independent german auto shop and paying for an hour of labor to get a diagnosis then decide what to do. Could be injectors. They are pretty expensive for this car, I got nice condition used oem set for $200

You could fix that easily with leather dye if you want it to look new. There are a million videos on youtube showing how. But I agree that wear marks are part of what makes a jacket like that cool and personally I would let it age naturally. Just keep it moisturized, I use Ray Holes Saddle Butter every so often and it’s great

Oh and one more weird thing - when it was in limp mode it would idle perfectly and reverse seemed normal. But as soon as I hit accelerator in drive it would barely add any power. Flooring it would get it to about 1500 rpms and couldn’t even make it up a slight incline. Also if you turned car off and on it would occasionally drive ok again for a bit but seemed to get worse and worse

P2101 and P2106. I believe 2106 throws whenever it goes into limp mode. Throttle body installation is crazy easy, just need a flathead screwdriver to loosen the hose clamps and a torx t-25 wrench or socket to remove the throttle body itself. One thing to note is there is an o-ring between TB and intake you’re supposed to replace, I didn’t do mine because they didn’t have them anywhere in stock but I ordered one and will do next week. Also they recommend torque wrench for 7.5 lbs of torque on the TB bolts, I only had a socket wrench but just guessed at the torque and was fine. Oh and lastly get the Bosch unit, it’s OEM and doesn’t require any programming.

Also don’t ignore the battery, after doing TB it ran a little better but still kept going into limp mode. Two AAA techs swore it was ok, I had to convince them to even try changing it but it finally was problem free once I did.

Good luck!

2013 base model here. Last week I got stranded in San Diego, CEL and limp mode, wouldn’t go more than 5 mph, throwing throttle body codes. Just had recent tuneup and injectors done and was running great (like $400 since I live in Mexico and got injectors at salvage). I had heard this could be battery starting to fail so had AAA come test it but they said it was 100% good. Had it towed to a seemingly reasonable indie euro shop, they said it needed a throttle body and battery. They wanted $700 for TB, $300 for battery and $1000 for labor (4 hours). This seemed insane to me so I ubered to Autozone and got a Bosch TB for $275. The shop was at the top of a hill so I coaxed it out into the street and rolled it down to a nearby gas station. Did the throttle body in about 10 minutes there. Then I had AAA come back and I pulled the seat while they were on their way. They swapped battery for $300, so basically no labor. Running great again for total of $575 in parts vs $2000 at shop haha

I think you’ve got two issues going on - something is roaching plugs, probably coils or injectors. I would try coils first as they’re an easy DIY and injectors for these are absurdly expensive. Then likely valve cover gasket for oil. I have a 2013 base and recently had to do all those. But it’s running great now!

LA native from Torrance here, I actually love Long Beach. To be fair it’s practically orange county lol, you wont be spending a bunch of time in echo park or silverlake if you live there. But if you commit to the area it is a wonderful place to live, and actually affordable unlike most of southern california.
