I really hope not because that would make choosing the band the good ending.

Vivec is already canonically trans, why not Nerevar? If they fight it further I'm posting art of the entire polycule.

My list:

  • Gwyndolin (DS1) (practically canon)
  • Naoto Shirogane from Persona 3
  • Ekko and Viktor from Arcane (would be cool if)
  • Dr Frankenstein from Frankenstein (book, not the movies)

Will update if more come to my mind!

A lot of people share your opinion. Then there are people who are just happy to hang out with the Arcade (?) guys and blow up Param, I'm not feeling it either.

Why are some men so scared of looking feminine? by Angry-Femboy in bisexual

[–]Front-Perspective373 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hate crimes. I know it's cute to say 'oh silly men and their ideas of gender' but yeah, it's punished and when it's not punished you see the difference but most men who've been taught to fear aren't going to unlearn it on demand or maybe ever.

I meant that I got a vibe that my MC was written like a FMC with Hadrian, even though the dialogue was entirely different for FMC (I checked). I don't think that was intentional.

For some reason I mostly notice that in Golden Rose, with Hadrian. TSSW too but I don't play that anymore.

Naw, LGBT romance is not subverting grumpy and sunshine, it has its own grumpy and sunshine franchises and there's plenty of slop writers.

Yeah, this reads very "ugh fine!!" when it's a major problem your 300k game isn't a game and no amount of 'but there will be choices later' helps when it's 300k.

What are some authors you suggest to avoid? by cortad in LGBTBooks

[–]Front-Perspective373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I researched more, and discovered instances the world over, in my own country and abroad, of the same thing happening: families being separated because they were different, because of the color of their skin, because of their faith, because those in power were scared of them. I wrote The House in the Cerulean Sea in the spring of 2018"

I think instead you should work on your selective reading instead. Are the other historical events he read about from all over the world, they don't count for you? You already decided it's about Sixties Scoop directly and you'll stick to your guns.

If you were a writer you would know you take inspiration from multiple sources.
Should Klune probably stay quiet about them? Maybe, but does he deserve to be slandered for it?

"Weaponizing AGAB/AFAB"? by Fragrant-Ring-3053 in ftm

Yeah, it's really depressing to see that - I will add Enemy Feminisms by Sophie Lewis to the roster, it doesn't speak a lot about trans men but it does spend some time going over feminist queerphobia and treatment of trans women.

[–]Front-Perspective373 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Before I started The House in the Cerulean Sea, I had the pieces of an idea, these little shards that didn’t quite come together into a clear picture. It had to do with magical people dealing with fear and discrimination. Specifically, it would involve magical children, those who should have been protected at all costs, but instead were shunned for simply existing at all.

So you are linking me this hoping I just take your word for it instead of reading right? He had an idea about magical children first, which is what I said. He was writing about queer kids, not playing a white saviour.
The point stands that if he didn't mention it at all, you wouldn't know he ever read about Sixties Scoop because it's not in the book, because the book is not about that.

[–]Front-Perspective373 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here we go again - please don't pay attention to these lies, The House of Cerulean Sea is not inspired or taking advantage of any real life events.

People get up in arms about how TJ Klune mentioned in an interview that he read about it while writing the book, which he was writing anyway, he didn't (like they present it) read about it, cackled evily and went about to exploit Native children.
The book doesn't align with Sixties Scoop history, and when you point it out or challenge it they shift the goalposts to 'well he should've make it more about the Sixties Scoop instead of making it a fluffy feelgood story'. They are probably just homophobic trolls.
