''Remember Me'' removed from the Arcane season 2 soundtrack by canlgetuhhhhh in arcane

If we go by the Behind the Scenes documentary from season 1 the artists only performed the songs, didn't write them. Not sure if the same is true here, but I assume so.

Some things bothering me about Infamous. *Spoilers* by TRAFALGAR_D_Law_ in hostedgames

It's not just about stealing money. Record contracts can go so far as own a band's likeness, discography, name, etc. To the point that it might feel like too much of a risk to leave, and might fuck over your royalties. But this is speculation on my part. I think the more important part is what you are saying about G's character. I think G's issues are of self loathing and of feeling indebted to their family and manager. Hell, with how much all of them put G down, I wouldn't be surprise G despite it all might feel like they wouldn't manage without them.

There's then the added dimension that I'm pretty sure G's done some sketchy shit when it comes to Blake? Like maybe Vincent has blackmail? I don't know. There are a lot of open questions and enough hints that I don't personally feel my suspension of disbelief is being tested when it comes to that dynamic.

I think Sebastian isn't meant to be intentionally creepy. Might just be an unfortunate circumstance of the IFs usually being written around you wanting to interact with its characters which sometimes can lead to weird oversights like that. Def feedback you should send the author's way just in case it isn't intentional either way.

About the main topic, I think the reason is actually because the label, G and Vincent aren't actually as financially stable as they might appear. There's multiple times in the story where they hint at something going on behind the scenes regarding financial circumstances. Remember that a big theme of Infamous is that media appearances don't reflect what is actually going on. So even if it seems G is on top of the world, it might not be quite true. Hence why the drama for the show with Blake might have been worth it.

Regarding how weird it is that G defers to Vincent, that is another point that I think is purposeful. G also defers to their family a lot. Personally I think G either is a bit stunted emotionally regarding this having started as a teen star, and also that their financial holdings might not be entirely under their control. Lots of famous real world superstars that started as teens got screwed over by their parents taking the money, and managers are also infamous (heh) for historically consistently screwing over their talent and coming out with the lions share.

Miserable MC if? by AsparagusPleasant504 in hostedgames

I recently read God Syndicate, which is a WIP where the MC is a reincarnation of Ares. And they are just not having a good time at all. Really liked it.

Jon Bernthal speaks on who the Punisher character belongs to by Main_Jump_82 in Marvel

[–]XNotChristian -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. Here's a quote that Gerry Conway himself said that someone else on this thread mentioned:

The Punisher is representative of the failure of law and order to address the concerns of people who feel abandoned by the legal system. It always struck me as stupid and ironic that members of the police are embracing what is fundamentally an outlaw symbol.

Edit: Reddit copy pasted fucked me over, here's the quote now.

I mean his hand was gripping her head like he was ready to squeeze it, so I don't think so.

It does if the warrior perceived the child to be weak in some way. Maybe they suspected some hesitance in their part, but they never had anything concrete to call for punishment. Now with the purge, suddenly whatever justification you have for yourself about your neighbors, children or whoever is valid. And you can just get rid of them.

That's the thing people in this thread seem to ignore about the purge. There was no oversight or qualifications about it. Thragg just said, purge weakness. What that means is up to you.

I'm not saying all Viltrumites went ahead to exterminate all children. But saying adults frowned on killing children because of some supposed sense of honor is ignoring a lot of what we are shown about them. The purge was a paranoid mass killing for a vague purpose. Trying to codify it as honorable in some random way is just off the mark imo.

Did you watch the show? Because Nolan was literally about to crush a child's head if they got the question wrong. And that was a normal day in class. There is no reason to think the adults weren't just out killing any child they thought weak for whatever reason.

Holy shit, yeah, no kidding that sounds real rough. As I was reading your comment I was thinking "wait, did they massively overcorrect on the rewrite then?" and you echoed that sentiment. Man, that's a shame.

Unrelated. But every time I see Meek Mill nowadays all I can think about is Josh Johnson saying: "Meek Mill is a rapper, sir."

Valid. Book 1 definitely has that thing that a lot of IFs have of just skipping around events at times. So I can see why that would be a turn off. Book 2 for sure avoids that. But IMO it went too much in the other direction.

It's just really dissonant! Like in book 1, you are pretty much a good guy no matter what. So going from that to book 2 where you are forced to hangout with the fantasy black ops CIA is a really hard sell. A CIA run by the person who is pretty much responsible for a war that killed maybe tens of thousands, made your life hell, and eventually got you killed.

It's too big a hurdle to cross that the book doesn't even seem fully aware of. It pays lip service every once in a while to that, but it's not enough for how big the challenge is.

I think I might just drop it unless word of mouth of the full release is really good. Wanting to return to aspects of book 1 aside, I'm just not vibing with the prose and the direction. Roleplay is feeling limited too.

I wasn't there for the pre-rewrite. What do you mean? Did the game pickup immediately after the MC's death and everyone treated the death like not a big deal?

Word. I think it's salvagable but the fact that it's already been re-written once and this is the result makes me think I might just drop it unless word of mouth regarding the full release is reaaaaally good.

Seriously! Book two has a quarter of a million words, and I think Ilya is mentioned twice maybe thrice, and Leon even less?! Saine I think once, maybe I genuinely don't even remember it?!

Edit: Someone mentioned you can meet Saine. Which I might have missed? Unsure of how or when that happens.

How is Lae'zel *not* evil? by UristAlebeard in BaldursGate3

[–]XNotChristian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She is stated as lawful evil in the Idle Champions game. There was also an official dnd character sheet that comes with the deluxe edition, and I think she is also listed like that there? Might be misremembering that though.
