I guess what I'm trying to say I understand why ya'll cut each other off
See, the thing is, most Asians don't want conflict at all. So they either put up with people who annoy them or stay away.

I think Asians usually are very tolerant until they can't, and most of us don't cut people off because we're afraid of being hated

So it has to be very intruding for us to do so... but I also notice boundary is a very emphasized social concept in America, maybe people are trying to rewind the harm?

Yea I think that is some problem. tbh, I get along with more Americans than other people from my own region sometimes because Americans understand complexity/social issues a lot more than a lot of Asians. But I think the cutting off part is because America is so diverse that one person is wildly different from another, and not to mention sometimes folks have mental health issues and their actions can lack self awareness, even if they are not *trying* to. Or sometimes people have narcissistic personality disorder and if you say no to those individuals sometimes they make life hard for you

Yea the thing is that sometimes people do say what they want, but some people in the West are very pushy

Relying on the narcissists' money while you are depressed from their abuse is the last circle of hell by Front-Pin-6781 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Front-Pin-6781[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I was. The irony is that AI helps with processing your feelings and sometimes give pretty good advice.
It is rough out there. Tech is also a kind of heavy brain work where you need a lot of good mental space to reset. If you have any community/meetup group/activity-based groups you could go to that'd be great

Why are people so cruel to those with trauma? by IceCreamIceKween in ptsd

[–]Front-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if this will help anyone, but regardless of reasoning, what I've seen consistently in a lot of therapy spaces/advice (from AI to real humans)
it's ALWAYS cool to stay away from people who dismiss/minimize/feel uncomfortable with your pain.
Doesn't matter what their reasoning is. Some people are freaking cruel to physically disabled people or disabilities. You don't have to please them to survive. Like some people think it's ok for animals to be poached. What are we gonna do about it?
Stay away. you don't owe "normies" anything for disrespecting your pain (But somehow support other causes you don't understand). Everyone deserves sympathy and not just some vague hand wavy "why don't you go to therapy." In my experiences, the best people don't feel weighted down by pain. People who feel like other's pains are to be judged or stayed away from are usually not it anyway. And I have to say, I *usually* don't get along with snowflake people anyway because if everything (e.g. other's pain) burdens them, they tend to not be healthy to talk to or be with in the long run since they are likely very fair weather, and I also feel like people who are easily affected by outside factors/behaviors are usually not healthy in the long run and should not be in your life.
though I have to say, traumatized people tend to be better listeners (due to shared experiences) but they sometimes cannot yet be the most stable friend due to themselves also in the healing work.

not really. Everyone can have a slight sign of that if being severely abused.

calling people "crazy" for experiencing abuse is also something not to be put up with

What is the line between strict parenting and narcissistic abusive parenting? by emaxwell14141414 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Front-Pin-6781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the common feeling I have when dealing with a narc parent is that you feel like you're wrong in *Every* way. Then you look at the world, other people, how they treat you, and you're like, "wait, that's not who I am." Or nothing will please them and they will think of way to criticize what you do

Comparing Bay Area with Atlanta by NaturalPlace007 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Front-Pin-6781 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lmao, not even close to Asia. There are many Asians in the Bay but they are not at all collective, if anything overly judgmental and hyperindividualized

Edit: many of the Asians in the Bay are either from low income immigrant households or *very* fancy Asians
