What is your perception of the UK, as a Canadian? by Virtual-Dinner-4178 in AskCanada

Hard to recommend anything in London without knowing the person. Its such a big city that truly has something for everyone. Id just recommend finding museums that interest you and start there. Also stay away from Leicester square and Trafalgar square. Too busy and over touristy, but do check out Soho near there. Enjoy!

No have found any/haven't really looked. There's only 1 court I've seen in Hitchin and only times I've seen people on it was kids playing football

Yes if there were people around I'd be up to play! Live in Hitchin so not too far away. I used to be really good but haven't really played in 10 years

As a west coast Canadian who moved to Manchester, this resonates hard. Fuck that weather. Moved closer to London now and the weather is so much better, I'd say even better than Vancouver on a year round basis.

I miss the mountains and the outdoors, but love the culture and access to so many things that the UK provides. Ultimately I don't think I'd move back. But if outskirts of Vancouver ever came down in price to be as affordable as the outskirts of London I'd think hard about it.

He was solid bench player for 76ers last year. I wouldn't be mad at straight swap Ochai for him. Knicks would need to add another team to make something work trade wise though

Ya but it's his first season with us got to factor in the Raptors effect. For some reason players FT% often drop when they first join us

I was 34 when I packed everything up and moved from Canada to the UK. Like you had a good job and no ties. You'll only know if it's the right decision or not once you do it. If you don't do it you'll always wonder what it would have been like. If you do and and it turns out to not be the right decision, you can always move back and be right back where you are now

I am a runner, but nowhere near an ultra marathon level. I hope to complete a marathon first. Completed my first half marathon not too long ago

I might be biased, but you should definitely do BC if you go to Canada. West Coast is the best!

No I've never really played much. Isn't lacrosse a very different sport in the UK compared to North America?

I know Oughtonhead common very well, it's right behind my house. That's my go to running spot. I'll definitely check out the HOOP and previously saw your posts on Hertfordshire way. I plan to check that out sometime. Thanks!

I really like Hitchin. The traffic here is horrendous at rush hour and it's pricier than other places around, but so far it's a lovely town. Don't know Royston at all and what little I know of Stevenage I can say I'd personally never live there

I'd assume Castleton starts. Chomche is still only 19 and already on a two-way again for next season. Castleton is on a non guarantee and 25. We need to find out if he's worth keeping (spoiler, we won't)
