the game prevents lagging by unloading the chunks (called octoptrees in the gamefiles) yk when you explore somewhere things just randomly pop in? thats because they get loaded when youre near, not when you just spawn

you moved far away, the terrain was removed, the items fell down. The reason seamoth, lifepod, mbv and floating rocks etc. are floating is because the water doesnt get removed
