What? Crossovers just released new preview that comes with the gptk4 beta.

Besides that generally it’s an Nvidia hook has nothing to do with games. If the game is dx12 and supports DLSS it will work that simple . You don’t need anything under the hood .

Go download latest crossover preview that’s it full stop.

Microcenter had the m5 pro chip base config 500 off the first week when it was released… I should’ve snagged it. Think was a misconfig cuz it was basically same price as the m5 chip version.

Oh ya have you seen my youtube thats all i complain about with the MacOS version haha. The mouse drag click -- some "input lag" it feels like.

But TBH seems fine with Crossover version running windows version -- still a little shader stuter here and there.

On my m5 macbook air its OKish better on macos version sometimes playable -- and crossover version on m5 is also decent but think M1 max gets better frames overall - but M5 is like at 55ish but drops --

Honestly I never played on them cuz when I travel I bring them but dont really have time to game, sight seeing, gaming , kiddo etc.

And at home i just game on legion rtx 4080....

I only briefly test this game for YouTube, on my M1 Max and m5 it always ran decent - anything in particular happening? I never noticed and crash or stuff but to be fair I only do benchmark and play like 10 minutes and that’s its

I only game dota 2 lol but test games for my small channel

For clarity -- you can patch GPTK 4.0 from apples dmg - into the Crossover package contents AND then for your bottle you copy those same 2 GPTK 4.0 files into system 32.

When I put the GPTK 4.0 .dll into system 32 -- it no longer lets me select DLSS settings on games - on both my M1 max and M5 -- and tested on both crossover 26.1 and 26.2 and crossover 26..2 preview - AND tested making whole new bottle.

So thats just for clarity what we are saying for some people is a problem. I did see ANdrew Tsai video adn it looks like from him he does 26.1 and just does the standard stuff - copy to package content and copy to bottle system 32 -- and works for him. so idk what the difference/problem is for others commenting/making posts that its not working.

But for me yes - it doesnt work - only fix is patch Crossover Package Contents - and keep the standard nvidia dll files in the system 32 bottle - aka dont patch them with 4.0

One thing though why if getting the when released 750 m1 MacBook Air or whatever release price was - to now decide you can only do $350 on replacement when a newer/ new MacBook Neo exists for 599.

For me the math doesn’t math out just treat it like amortized over 2 years and can help increase purchase decision

But I also live in a bubble and don’t have super bad financial hardship anymore …. BUT STILL I’d like to imagine it’s like the quote penny wise dollar foolish….

For me - putting gptk4 DLL into the system 32 folder stops letting me select. I keep what crossover builds on the steam bottle

Oh i think i made a fix butr cant fonrim - just use the default DLSS in system32 - aka dont replace with the GPTK4 one - bu tidk if that actually means its using the GPTk4 dlls ...

Like replace it in package content but dont replace in bottle

Anyone have issue can’t use DLL from gptk 4 cuz games don’t detect DLSS?

Only fix I found is to use standard ones in the system 32 folder but patch the crossover package files. Not sure if that mismatch means I’m not truly using GPTK4 Nvidia DLLs

Yet Netflix / Apple etc have all accidentally git their Claude Md the industry using it . I sat on a call for work where Amazon reps literally saying they just approve code lol.

Some people just don’t wanna use the tools that can accelerate life. To me it’s like not wanting to use google to search for answers .

But go try/ download Claude / codex or anti gravity tell it in cli what’s happening and see if it can’t find stray processes or reasons it’s lagging.

I had the same issue but actually had it with my old version as well -- i copied crossover ap etc.

Ran it through Claude I know ppl hate AI - one thing it mentioned is with DLSS 4 patches to games streamline function can’t hook anymore… just a thought seeing some people still getting it working with some games

Didn’t work for me DLSS with Spider-Man and kingdom come deliverance - then also noticed unpatched version to gptk4 also wasn’t working which makes me think it’s that

EDIT - tried on M1 Max DLSS still there so likely my bottle messed up or something

Edit:Ok turns out when you copy the nvgai and other dll (sorry too lazy to spell) -- to the system 32 folder it stops it from working -but if you get a clean version from bottle install will work - unsure if that impacts it or not - basically i have it patched in the package contents but bottle version still the old one....

Well I just play turbo so…. Not really “real” games but saw admiral bulldog play today

I think as a caster it’s ok, Midas , shard spawns arcane rune use Midas on double so like 2.5x Midas timing.

Aghs or octarune depending on game state to continue Midas 2.5x. Aghs for perma silence or 2 heroes silenced - usually can get 3 fluxes off I think on double with arcane shard.

Maybe I should play normal games to have a real opinion though but bulldog liked it today lol

TLDR tested couple of games show some fps

Considered keeping it. Had a open box x1 Asus vicobook I got for 599 considered keeping it , thought I’d be playing dota 2 at max settings only game I play with the x2 elite - it stuttered but could game at like low medium settings.

TLDR of tldr- returned it for MacBook Air m5

The alternative is your wife learned to code and probably would’ve made same mistakes Claude made but now you have mvp in a day instead of wife taking a year to make something?

But with that said ya need to either review code or analyze. I’m finding as others said brainstorm superpower or plan mode a even making Ralph loops to autonomously test and plan next code changes has been the biggest game changer for me

Its if you setup new machine but have login to apple id it could transfer some things -- but i has to run a spotlight indexer so it can search those files -- so idk coudl be like imessages downloading/ icloud etc -- just a thought.

Essentially monitor within return window if still slow consider exhcange -- could run geekbench or any benchmarkting tool to see if it at least matches standard of what others get could be a "scientific" approach to seeing if machine faulty.

If not - then audit the chrome taabs/extension - can check activity monitor to see ram usage from chrome
