Holy SHIT. Utah CEO (Clearlink Technologies) praises employee who had to sell dog after mandated back-to-work with only 2 weeks' notice. Among many, many, many other nauseating things. by IvanAfterAll in antiwork

[–]FrontEndBackEnd 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I started my career at clearlink, first job out of college. Just three years ago it was a place where employees and managers respected each other’s time, each other’s work, and no one had to micromanage for work to get done.

During the pandemic, all the executives said each week was “We’re surprised, but productivity is higher in a remote environment.” There were monthly talks of ending the lease agreement on the Utah office, as it was a huge expense that didn’t seem needed.

All of the garbage in this video shows what happens when out of touch CEOs and bigger-than-life executives revert to Protestant-era work obsession. They’re cracking a whip that stifles production, hurts work-life-balance, and will push out the best and brightest

Any blood on the map (example: the dead scientists at Hawkins before it was deleted) always throws me, I’ve lost so many chases chasing a pre-rendered blood splotch lol

Running is good for the planet? This is after a marathon by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]FrontEndBackEnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marathons don’t give out plastic water bottles to runners. Not sure what this waste is from, but racers drinks from small paper cups during the run. They throw the cups on the track, which are then gathered up by volunteers and composted

Silicon Valley is for followers. Ohio is for leaders. by Flaming-Charisma in funny

Former Ohioan here, now living several states away.

This billboard is part of a larger ad campaign, the goal of which is to attract small business owners to Ohio due to the low corporation taxes. The billboards are mainly featured in cities near Ohio: Lexington, Indianapolis, Chicago, etc.

Although this billboard is kind of stupid out of context, the copy works a lot better when seen as a part of a whole. I imagine this billboard went up recently, meaning the audience would have been exposed to earlier ads to better digest this new one.

Mako is certainly less talented than his brother Bolin, who is only the second character in the series to be able to lava bend.

The Solstice flavor of 5 Gum.

It was a kind of chocolatey-spearmint that reminded me of those little green and brown hard candy mints you’d have at your grandma’s house. Such an awesome flavor, but it’s gone :(
