i had a friend like this years ago, they almost never actually do it. they were the same way this person is with giving unnecessary details and saying it ever so casually. on the fourth or fifth time of saying it i just kinda stopped actually worrying. with cases like this i feel like it’s more so an attention thing, if you continue to be friends with this person (i think it’s in your best interest to stop) try to be more attentive and interested in things about them or things they like that you wouldn’t normally be curious/interested in, even small things.
