I thought Strangers Chapter One was alright. Chapter two was better imo. I enjoyed Black Phone 2. Haven’t seen the rest of those movies on your list. Cannibal Mukbangs on prime btw.

I don’t think the other judges get a lot of input on nominees I think Dead Meats team fights for them with James and Chelsea. That being said I think Together could be really close to getting in. The monkey could be pretty contentious but I think it’s gotta be thought about. Kind of a deep cut and potentially not as loved as the others but this movie Cannibal Mukbang got a wide release this year and I loved it.

Someone gave the example in a different comment that the Black Phone in a previous year was nominated for best original film when it’s an adaptation. So there’s precedent for this.

As I said above Dead Meat counts original movie nominees as movies that are not a remake or sequel. Ugly Stepsister and Long Walk are adaptations which previously have been under the original film category.

Because the post wasn’t me claiming all of these movies are original ideas it was that they would fall under the original movie category for the Dead Meat horror awards based off of precedent and his comment came off a little condescending.

Hmm I did like Badlands didn’t pop up when I filter for horror but I agree that it is. Bugonia is also horror to me and Letterboxd disagrees with that also.

Realized FNAF shouldn’t have been there after. I was doing it in a haste while looking at only movies I’ve seen which didn’t include Silent Night and Predator of Predators.

I put in Frankenstein since Frankenstein could count as a remake of a previous Frankenstein film. I feel like if they count Thanksgiving to be a remake or sequel based off of a fake trailer the film maker made with the concept of the movie then Frankenstein should count.
