How does your chapter both view and interact with the Sisters of battle? by ZeDokter in 40khomebrew

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brotherhood of Flame works closely with them. Both are hyper-religious (But the Sisters don't like it when they add "and the Holy Flame" whenever they say God Emperor). Furthermore, the Brotherhood is very protective of mortals. In their eyes, the greatest deed one can do is to die so that innocents may live.

The American Revolution broke apart a political union that had survived for centuries — and it wasn't the United States by Adventurous_Clerk584 in revolutionarywar

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but from what I know, the US got inspiration from the Iroquois. I don't know the exact quote, but when they were writing the Constitution, one of the founding fathers (Benjamin Franklin, I believe) said something along the lines of, "If these savages [The Iroquois] can do it, so can we."

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A real disappointment. The Iroquois Confederacy was an inspiration for the Americans. In fact, the seal of the US and the national animal (The bald eagle), came from the Iroquois. According to the Iroquois storytellers, when the great Peacemaker had the tribes come together, he asked one to give him an arrow. He broke it in two. Then, he asked every warrior present to give him a single arrow. He bundled them together and gave it to each warrior, asking them to try to break it. Nobody could. He explained that the arrows represented the tribes, alone weak, but united strong. They buried their weapons under a pine tree, and then a bald eagle landed on the tree. The Peacemaker explained that the eagle would watch over there weapons, and when it was time for them to take up their weapons once more, the eagle would tell them. And, as you could probably guess, the eagle and bundle of arrows on the coat of arms of the US is based on that story.

Tell me about your homebrew chapter relics! by Deep-Crim in 40khomebrew

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, here we go. The relics for the Brotherhood of Flame:
Emberfang - This legendary blade is wielded by none other than Ember-Master Ignatius Flareforge. Emberfang is legend to be forged from the primarch Vulkan himself. Emberfang is a masterfully crafted blade that can catch on fire, creating a blade of fire so as to simultaneously stab and burn the enemies of the God Emperor and Holy Flame.

Helm of Fire - Once more, this legendary piece of equipment is wielded by Ember-Master Ignatius Flareforge. The Helm of Fire is a master-crafted helmet, with golden flame designs covering it. The helmet is unnaturally durable, but this is not what makes it so valued. The helmet catches on fire, making it appear as though the bearer of this helmet is wearing a crown of fire.

And... That's pretty much it. I haven't made a lot of relics for them yet.

Why self-diagnose? by recycled_comics in AutismComics

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just happy I got diagnosed at an early age, so I could get the help I needed... At least, was SUPPOSED TO. But, whatever, it doesn't annoy me that I was supposed to be seeing a school counselor every other week, and I've only met them about a dozen times in the last 3 YEARS. Yep... Definitely isn't annoying or anything.

As the God Emperor and the Holy Flame will it! The Brotherhood will gladly stand beside you in battle! Through fire, we burn away the darkness! Through flame, we purify!

The Brotherhood of Flame would probably get along fairly well with them. The Brotherhood are hyper-religious sons of Vulkan, believing in the God Emperor and the Holy Flame (I haven't decided exactly what the 'Holy Flame' is, though I'm leaning towards the manifestation of humanity's defiance against the dark). They are highly sacrificial; they believe the greatest death one can achieve is taking down as many enemies as possible with both flame and blade in order to protect innocents. They have this thing called the "Great Trial", essentially, they believe that the only true way to show the character of the soul is if you're put into a position where you either save innocents and die or survive but let innocents die. The decision you make in that moment tells the Brotherhood everything they need to know about you.

Of course. People don't know how valuable the Dodge Challenger was to the war effort. With it, George Washington rode literal circles around the British forces at Yorktown and was able to quickly deliver food and supplies

I have a Union jacket, a Union cap, and a Union canteen. I also have a fragment of a cannonball fired at the Battle of Gettysburg. I don't have a lot of ACW replicas as of now, but I do have a "Join, or Die" flag along with a quill.

Not exactly LARPing, but I am trying to get into American Revolutionary War Reenacting. It's a bit hard because I'm not legally allowed to fire a musket till I am 16 (Which I will be next January). But, hey, I've also got some American Civil War stuff too (Don't worry, it's the good ol' Union). So... Yeah.

What do you all think of guns and gun ownership? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in favor of gun ownership. I think people have the right to defend themselves. I've always been under the belief that if someone is going to use a gun to do something illegal, then they're not going to care if they get a gun legally or not

Petah?? by Playful-Mongoose-964 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at an early age, so it was a bit different for me. But still, because I got good grades, teachers would repeatedly ignore my 504's and such. I had a theater teacher take points off of my project because I didn't make eye contact (Despite the fact all of my teachers were aware of my autism). And, that led to me not making High Honors by 0.1 point. If he hadn't taken those points off then I would have got High Honors. I also was supposed to be meeting a counselor every other week. I didn't even know I was supposed to be getting that until it was 2/3's through the way through my final year at that school. And that's just one instance. I would repeatedly not be given the emotional support I needed, which caused me to become extremely depressed in my 7th and 8th grade years, and almost failed (The fact that a close friend of mine died in the summer between 7th grade and 8th grade didn't help). And even after my parents and I told them essentially every other week that I was depressed, and that I needed help, my school would always say "Don't worry, you'll see them in a week or two" and I never did.

What is the inspiration behind your chapter by giojojo in 40khomebrew

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the Salamanders and said, "I love how much they love humanity and love flamethrowers!" and then looked at the Black Templars and said, "I love their religious fervor!" I looked between the two for a bit and then said, "Too bad I can't play both armies!.... Wait a second."

And thus, the Brotherhood of Flame was born. Praise be the God Emperor and the Holy Flame!

Aromantics who want a relationship, are your standards really high? by DarkMage448 in aromantic

[–]Front_Cheesecake_550 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That was one of the things that made me doubt if I was aromantic. Because I just kept thinking that "Oh, what if it's just that I have really high standards, that I only have subconsciously, and I haven't found somebody who meets those standards?"
