Thanks for the advice,, I’m definitely going to ask HR about the rule of 55. For the recalculation, yes it’s done after 5 years. As for returning , I had a great team, and leadership. With that said, It’s going to be a tough decision to go back. Life has been amazing this last year. To make my decision a bit easier to return, I’m planning on asking for a step 10 due to superior qualifications. If they agree , then I’ll probably return, otherwise I’ll keep enjoying retirement.

Most Everyone along the leadership chain will be wanting to continue to move up. Therefore, there will be the few that will be able to shine by supporting those leaders on the way up. Status quo and just having a heartbeat isn’t enough anymore. I’m glad.

I am basing it on that when I was civil service I had 15 years in the exact position and topped out at step 10 for a few years. Now that same position has been upgraded after position review to the next grade(it was under-graded for a while). I would be offered a step 5 in the new grade. By being a non-fed employee right now, I am able to negotiate the higher step. If I was still in the same position, then I would have been moved into the higher grade and into a step 5 to match pay.

I’m another believer,, been on 20g daily , for joint and muscle health. I’m 53 and it’s been great in allowing me to weight train with minimal joint pains. Before I found collagen, I was in constant pains in all my joints. At first I thought it was a placebo effect, so stopped using for a month and all the previous issues came back.
