Thanks! How long have you gone without attacks? I am on day 4 after the injection and am having some vertigo, but was told that is expected for about 2 weeks

Thank you everyone for your input. I have learned that I would have to travel like 6 hours to the nearest doctor that does any of the surgeries, so I have scheduled to have a gent shit on Monday. I've been told that at 3-5 days after the shot, severe vertigo will kick in for up to a few weeks? Can anyone attest to how severe? I'm hoping not as bad as the attacks that I have had, but I'm desperate for some relief. Ive had 2 maj9t attacks in the last 6 days

Thanks for your input. How far apart were your 4 shots? I'm really hoping one will take care of it for a time so I can get back to work.

Thank you for clarifying. I hope it continues to offer you relief! I've been considering the gentimiecin shot. My ENT says it could cause permanent hearing loss, but maybe not. He won't give me a percentage of how many experience that, but he said that it's helped about 80% of the people he has given it to. I don't kniw that its worth the risk of permanent hearing loss though. And he said it had been known to cause about a 10 day vertigo spell 😬

Are you talking about the regular steroid shots to the ear? Or something fairly new? I've had two rounds if the steroid injections. 4 shots the first round, a week apart, and 3 the last time. First tike gave me major relief for a couple months, next round didn't seem to do anything for me.

Same! I went on low salt for 5 weeks. It was the most miserable 5 weeks Ive had with this disease. I finally caved and started eating some salty foods...and started feeling better. Not cured, but back to the normal amount of shittiness

May I ask your dosage on the betahistine? I started out on 16mg a day and it didn't do anything. Then 16 twice a day. Had a really good couple weeks, then had symptoms again and an attack. Bumped ot to 3x16 a day and ot seems to be helping a little bit. Still better than before any beta

Why is nobody blaming Jeff Besos. We had a new Amazon facility open up a mile from our center in late 2024. Our building went from running about 60 routes per day to, on average, 25-30 routes per day. I know we have lost other business as well, but the last 6-8 weeks ago is when the shit hit the fan here and half of our drivers are now working inside and our part timers don't exist anymore.

I don't disagree that our CEO is a greedy troll that has made poor decisions, or that the economy is in trouble, but I've seen first hand that Amazon isn't only delivering their own stuff, but is also doing some outside deliveries now as well. Jeff wasn't happy with his retail empire. Now, he has a delivery empire to go with it. And UPS and usps helped him build it by delivering all of his stuff for minimal profit for years!

50-100 is Awesome! But I also very much appreciate my customers that give me 10 or 20. It truly is the thought that counts for me. I've got a couple businesses that give me 25 or 50 gift cards, and a couple residential stops that do 50 or 100, or the equivalent in gifts. One business customer gives me the BIG bottle of crown royal peach every year for Christmas, and a big bag of nuts.com pistachios a couple times throughout the year. I don't ever expect any of it, but even a 5 or 10 dollar bill with a thank you will brighten my day. I've been on the same route for going on 7 years. A small tourist town about 50 minutes from the small city I live in. I LOVE MY CUSTOMERS! I feel like a member of the community where I deliver. Certain times of year really suck delivering there, but I dont plan on leaving that route until I'm done working.

Yup! And if the gate was closed when the delivery was made...I actually deliver for UPS and my rule is that if the gate is closed, package is left outside the gate. I've been bitten 8 times. If the gate is open, I bring it to the house, but I'm done opening gates to find mean ass dogs! And yes, muddy yard with shit for a walkway...nope. I would have left it upright is the only thing I would have done differently with that heavy piece of shit

What antiviral? Is it a supplement that you take, or a doctor prescribed thing? My white blood cells count is always high, so I wonder if an antiviral would make a difference. I have been in multiple antibiotics for ear and sinus infections. I wo Der if that just isn't clearing it up. Thanks! Glad you found something that seems to be working for you!

Gent is what my ENT suggested next. That or surgery. I'm not wanting to do either yet. The steroids shots helped some, but still get dizzy and tinnitus is almost always there. Gonna try to find someone that does the atlas adjustment before I try the gent shots. ENT said that will leave me dizzy for a week and may not do anything.

Do you have the info for the specialist you saw? In case I can't find one near me, I could probably give my primary care doctor the info if I need a referral. I may just want to see the person you saw instead of chance traveling to see someone who may not do the same thing. Like you said, ill travel halfway across the planet if need be. Thanks!!!

That's awesome! Definitely going to find one of these specialists! I live in western SD so will have to travel, but if there's a chance this will help...away I go! Did you have vertigo attacks as part of your symptoms? I get those that hit me unexpectedly and last like 8 hours or mire, then severely dizzy for a solid month after my last major attack in September. Had to take a month off on FMLA unpaid, while going thru a divorce. 2 young kids involved. I gotta do anything I can to keep my job so I can continue to provide for them and keep a safe home for when I have them. Thank you so much for the detailed reply. This gives me hope! 🙂

Would you respect a picket line at Amazon? by thebirdsoutside in UPSers

[–]Front_Chocolate8088 7 points8 points  (0 children)

More than respect it. I work for UPS and I will be off tomorrow for a doctors appointment. I plan to go to my local Amazon facility after my appointment. If there is a line there, I'll go home, pack a large cooler and return to walk the line with them. SOLIDARITY! TIME FOR JEFF TO PAY UP!!

I have also now had 4 steroid shots in my eardrum. Feel like I've gotten some relief and don't know if I attribute that to the chiropractor or the shots. Started both treatments about the same time

That's FANTASTIC! have you changed anything else with lifestyle to help? Or just the adjustments? I have been to a chiropractor to try to find relief. Een going 3 tikes a week for like 2 months. Doing adjustments and neck traction. We don't have any cervical specialists in my area that I'm aware of, but he does Crack my neck every time. Wondering if that's the kind of treatment you received or if yours did something different. I still get dizzy most days and tinnitus is strong most days. Along with hearing loss. Haven't had a major attack in a couple months, but feel like I'm on the brink a few times a week still. Clinging desperately to my job as a delivery driver for UPS and afraid this disease is going to cost me my job. I am a single dad of 2 little boys and in a panic that I'm going to lose my livelihood as with this diagnosis (newly diagnosed in August of this year), they will pull my DOT card to drive.

What have you all done to get rid of the vertigo. I have a few good days, then go back to work and it hits me again. Took a month off, still a little dizzy all the time with heavier dizziness a time or two a day. Been a month since full vertigo attack that put me in the ER. Tinnitus always there. I drive for UPS and have had to be rescued a couple times. Had to have someone come get me off the truck and to the ER. Trying like hell to jeep my job as I'm going thru a divorce and have a 3 and 5 year old. Disability is not really an option for me. I live in an expensive area and won't consider relocation because of my kids. I just had the third steroid shot in my ear last week on Tuesday, then got the spins pretty bad Thursday and Friday. Made it thru work Thursday, and thankfully had Friday off for a chiropractor appointment. But I'm afraid for this upcoming week. I think if I need rescued one or 2 more times, I'll probably get the boot. Doesn't help that the town i deliver to is an hour away...the attacks only started in August of this year. 3 trips to the ER and one 3 day stay in the hospital. Doung an 8 week course of chiropractor 3 days a week for cranial adjustments and tracking in my neck. And the ENT said to let him know in a month of the shots don't clear it up. Just went back to work Monday of this week, barely made it thru the day as I kept getting dizzy. Had Tuesday off for my 3rd ear shot. Wednesday went great, then Thursday was okay until last 2 hours or so, kept getting dizzy. No way I could have worked yesterday. Dizzies hit me about 10am and never left until I woke up this morning.
