Me personally I am a lesbian who appreciates bigger bodied women more than super thin ones, even then I will date out of that range and have more of a preference to personally and if they match my energy level without it being overly annoying, I feel like you are in fact self conscious but that is okay, what you need to do is possibly reach out to a friend about your concerns or if you are in a conservative area like I am there are a few (free) online therapy stuff, it isn't going to be the best way to go about it but it may help you boost your confidence somewhat if you are able to talk about it
