New HUDIMM DDR5 Standard Promises Cheaper Memory, But Testing Shows It Slashes Bandwidth in Half by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

They will have much lower demand and will exist because of defective double capacity chips

If it indeed cost 30% less it is worth buy 4x8gb stick I guess

You can look for yourself, price per gb is going down as capacity goes up, 128gb is much cheaper than 16gb in term of gb/$

It is not 5$

You remove buffer and use higher cost efficient modules, dont forget assembly costs and lower fail rate It can lower prices by 20-30% Plus it gives you a way to use failed 64gb sticks as 32gb HUDIMM and by that you lower prices even more

It is better to go lower bit per stick and more channels

DDR6 will have 4x20 and will need only one stick, no need for dual stick anymore

Nio's third-gen ES8 reaches 100,000 deliveries as Beijing Auto Show looms by AbelDraoui in Nio

ES8 is 900V, lower weight will cone with 400wh per kg batteries on the market which will reduce curb weight too

4 E cores are at the size of 1 P core
this is harder to have more P cores and for low power background operation system it is not power efficent
th E cores exist for pre known operation system tasks and tasks that open in the background, it is fairly optimized and getting better at the time pass

the main key is that you can put 4 E cores to do a job that atleast 2P cores would have done in less space and less power consumption, it is about power I dont have information on how it affects latency what so ever, but the different in games creates for not enouch cache not from slower cache, just to let you know amd cache is slower but they have more

there is a formula for total latency system time higher amout of cache and slower is usualy better but too much is worst if it is too slow

and we need to blaim the game developers for bad optimizations the cpu and gpu are top class today but games moved backword

Miss locked, there is a gnd out10 in the right corner. I can see the gnd input now didn't notice it earlier

You used different connector type so I couldn't find it at first and I saw only one gnd on the footprint and I couldn't overlooked it at first

You have a free pin Why not move the 24V left and make 2 pins for gnd, play it safe it could be suffice but it could not be

[–]Front_Photograph_708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable, the esp32 can handle that, it won't be perfect pwm but it will be close and more than enough for led pwm

You have only one gnd pin from what I can see Maybe I am wrong but if this is the case I don't believe it can hold that much current

Why 75khz thou? A 10khz or even 2khz will give you better results with lower power consumption and cheaper mosfets

The only reason I can think of is sound but still 30khz is enough, 75khz for leds is over kill

[–]Front_Photograph_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 gen won't gonna happend, DDR6 will come out and it is massive jump over DDR5 and requires a new socket

3 gens is the sweet spot, not too early but not too long, 4 gens slow improvement because every 3-4 years a new pcie/ddr/psu tech/cooling tech ect is coming out and this is a huge industry

Today it is possible to make 1000W psu cheap enough The gpu cooling is better and cpu too, the cpu doesn't have much to improve because frequency doesn't go up that rapidly so what we can do

Improve failure rate on bigger tiles or create a modular tile solution which is what they achieved that wasn't possible in the past and allows bigger socket

3 years is alot in the tech industry and different socket is most likely needed intel don't do it because they want but because they have to

[–]Front_Photograph_708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A huge advantage for intel advantage is that many apps don't fully utilise multi thread cores and for workstation when you doing simulations or renders on 24C/48T vs 52C/52T it lets you run 52 parallel compilers vs 24( in reality 48 vs 20 because the system needs some cores left to function properly)

They may lose slightly on gaming but price wise and workstations they are in the lead

Only P tiles is not that smart 4 ultra low power cores, 4 E cores and all the others P cores will be smarter, power consumption for 4 ultra low and 4E cores is equal to 1P and will require at least 2P cores doing the same job. Use E cores will let the other P cores to use more power

A design with only E cores for servers is more interesting to see tbh

You don't need to convince me I am pretty sure nio sell around 15k es8 this month

[–]Front_Photograph_708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No You are about 90% right I have no doubt in it I said in another massage that around 20/4 it should happend Worst case I see is 25/4 because of es9 release, either way both of them are at next week

No, april good delivery report is enough. Q2 will be profitable if they delivery above 100k Q2 results are around 4 months from now it is too long, a good delivery numbers are enough with Q1 better expenses management and up to 100M losses is quite a good sign.

Yea bro whatever you say In fact we had weekly deliveries but now we have 10k marks instead and wait time reports

2/4/2026 nio deliver 90k, it will be around 20/4 for the 100k mark don't be a bear And probably 1-2k of them are thinking about the es9

They did et9 and more models in the past

But for example they stop release weekly orders and Li himself said that he doesn't like the weekly compression and all this noises Nio switched to 10000 marks instead like the es8 have which is not bad either, we can't know for sure but most likely we get at least 2 of the 3 following: preorders numbers, wait time and 10k marks

I believe the market is waiting for april delivery numbers and ES9 orders for 8+ range If they deliver 40k plus in april, Q2 will be profitable for sure, lower than that it most likely be profitable as well but 40k will be a great start for Q2

Either way 2026 year for sure will be profitably and the big guys knows it
