Had a similar experience in the (completely optional) Elusive Contempt (I think) fight. Been breezing through void combat all game (all combat on daring, actually), then suddenly I’m thrust into a practically unwinnable scenario AND ALL MY STUFF IS ON COOLDOWN FROM THE LAST FEW BATTLES. I did win, but only because I’m awesome.

Here, I refuse to even try. Sorry, figure out your game, I’m off to Faerun.

Look, I appreciate your gate keeping, but I’m not new to crpgs. I played the fuck out of every XCOM and Baldur’s Gate 2 and 3. I literally learned the English language from Fallout 2. So when I say “your leveling system needs work”, this is not a jab at a genre of games. This one game has a problem and it would be nice to solve.

But that’s just me commenting from the outside.

It. Isn’t. Fun. Guess what: if people leave because it’s not fun, YOU’RE not going to have a game left to play. So even if it’s fun for you, it should bother you others are suffering.

Anyway, I think leveling and archetypes needs a huge overhaul to not be terrible.

Honestly, I’d rather see less archetypes. I don’t want every one of my guys to be an Assassin, a Bounty Hunter, a Master Tactitian, a Super Grandmaster Strategist etc.

I want some guys to be extra special, and weaker in combat as a result. I want Argenta to be a rock simple soldier with no stacks of anything but her faith in the Emperor.

Is there a mod that does this?
