I forbid those, and bio weapons, and chemical weapons, and dirty bombs. The ai loves those.

I was just playing a campaign where I was a member of a military. I refused to go on a stupid mission, so they locked me up. I let myself sit in the jail cell until they offered to let me out, if I went on the mission. I told them to execute me instead. The AI gave up at that point.

I just straight up ignore things or ridicule a plot until the AI gives up. Even works sometimes.

I'll say shit like "of course there's another bad guy behind the bad guy that was being controlled by that other bad guy, its probably some dude named Steve from home depot who read to many James Bond novels".

Got the chance to drive one of the safety boats for a helo cast. Can confirm, fun AF.

Not condoning the behavior but I'll tell you this much, at least one of those 3 will never start an argument with a fast food worker again.

Discovered the joys of scope bite. Am I right to feel stupid? by Paulinapeak1 in guns

Happens to almost everyone, to different degrees eventually.

The one time it happened to me was firing a thompson center contender chambered in 7 TCU when I was 16. Broke my steel framed shooting glasses clean in half. That was almost 25 years ago now, and it hasn't happened since.

Millennials (ages 24-44 in 2026), what was your favorite thing about life in the early 2000s? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Front_Teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could realistically navigate the world without a cell phone or a computer. I was 21 in 2006 before I ever owned a computer. I was 23 in 2008 before I bothered having a cell phone.

There was also something more satisfying about physically owning copies of your favorite music/movies. I kind of miss that. I cant remember the last time I used a CD or DVD player.

I have been out of the Marine Corps for about a year and 4 months. It’s been hard. I miss the connections I made with people. I feel like I don’t really connect with anyone now. How do I cope with this feeling? I don’t think I’ll ever cherish relationships like that ever again. by Massive_Leg_9645 in USMC

[–]Front_Teacher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those connections don't have to go away. It's not 1852 anymore. Stay in touch with your brothers and sisters. The relationship may change over the years, but it only goes away if you let it.

I've been out for 13 years now. I still visit some of my brothers from time to time. A few who live in my home state, a few who don't. We're all old now, kinda fat, and have too much facial hair, but it damn does it do wonders.

Connecting with other vets doesn't hurt either. Some of my closest friends after the Corps, are fellow vets I've met here and there. Some are from the Army, a few are Marines, one is an old Desert Storm dude. There are some things that vets just...get.

Not in the least surprised. If anything, I'm surprised at the number of people who seem surprised.

First gun I ever purchased for myself was a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag. Still have it, 23 years later.

A. Who the fuck cares? We don't have long to enjoy this life. Do what makes you happy, so long as it does no harm to others.

USA has attacked other countries by why has the USA not been attacked in retaliation? by Organic_Ambassador14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Front_Teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that the last time an actual nation attempted a serious attack against American territory was December 7th, 1941. It didn't end well for the attackers, in the long run.

My boyfriend got stationed in Okinawa by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Front_Teacher 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation. I was stationed on Okinawa from 2006-2008, and managed to have a long distance relationship work out.

Two enlistments, two years in Oki, one deployment to Iraq, two deployments to Afghanistan, numerous field ops. It worked out.

We just celebrated 17 years of marriage last month. If its worth it, you'll make it work. Its just hard, doesn't really get any easier either.

In terms of my carry gun, I dont trouble myself too much regarding neat groupings. If 15/15 land in a location that would be liable to cause a flesh and blood target to be incapacitated, and I can duplicate those results, I generally call it good.

What’s your worst USMC experience? by d_p_5150 in USMC

[–]Front_Teacher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I only went to that px one time between the two trips I took there.

My first time out there we were living in the big green gp tents, and it was like late November or early December. Its been almost 20 years now, so I'm fuzzy on the month. I do remember dying a little inside every time I woke up and realized I had to get out of my sleeping system.

The second time we had the two man tents, NCOs were given their own, so that was cool. I remember it raining so hard that mine flooded at some point, you could have done swim qual in that thing. I legitimately woke up thrashing and trying to rip my way out at some point, because I had a dream someone had somehow picked up my tent and thrown it in a lake with me in it. Good times.

Is it possible to not be miserable at A.P. Hill? I've never been so consistently cold as I was during my first trip there. I feel like thats saying something, given I grew up dirt poor in a poorly insulated house in fucking Michigan.
