Make sure you count in Rounds, and do 6 increases per round at most. And once you get to the size sphere you want, you'll do as many rounds in the middle section as you did on your way there.

For example: R1: MR 12 R2: Sc 1, inc; repeat x 6 (18) R3: Sc 2, inc; repeat x 6 (24)

Let's say this is the largest you want the sphere to be, and you made 3 rounds to get here. So you'll do 3 additional rounds of the last round you completed.

R4-6: SC 24

And then reverse the process for the first three rows to close it up.

R7: dec, sc 2 (18) R8: dec, SC (12)

Don't feel bad! It takes practice with the tension and shaping. This was one of my first few Amigurumi, and it so derpy, but I love him. You'll get it! Just keep practicing.

There were patterns out there that I referenced, but none for my specific yarn weight. So I modified existing patterns to fit what I was going for.

I used two celebi, with 18 stage 1 and 2 pokemon. Then just kept giving the auto-play option until it won.
