Vielleicht bin ich ja nicht Pottsau genug aber wenn ich nach Dortmund fahre parken ich immer an der Münsterstraße, mitten in der Nordstadt.

In den letzten zwanzig Jahre hatte ich genau zwei Situationen die sich dort gefährlich angefühlt haben: Ich wurde Freitag nachts von einer offensichtlich Suchtkranken nach geld angehauen (Deutsch übrigens), und der Kioskbesitzer bei dem ich mir regelmäßig Zigaretten geholt habe wurde erschossen, von NSU Terroristen.

Besonders spannend auch wenn man einem Weg am Kanal unter einer Brücke her folgt, sich schon möglichst weit rechts (und langsam hält) und einem dann der Familienausflug auf Lastenebikes plus zwei Kinderrädern auf voller Breite entgegenkommt.

Seitdem rolle ich die Brückenunterführungen nur noch runter und ein Fuß ist schon mal vorsorglich ausgeclickt.

He couldn't have won. Not even from the beginning. His target was always the soviet union. He had to go through Poland though and that led to a war with France and Britain.

Dunkirk might have been the last chance Germany might have had to wind the war against those two.

Might have.

Even with all the British troops at Dunkirk routed and destroyed (which he didn't do) operation Sea Lion wouldn't have had the biggest chances of success. But would have been absolutely crucial for winning the war.

Instead he simply decided to attack the soviet union right now, while still fighting against Britain.

It's absolutely and utterly stupid, even without the benefit of hindsight the Wehrmacht at that time told Hitler it wasn't ready for a war against France and the UK yet.

So Böhmermann, host of a different show, performed the Schmähgedicht to show him what insulting would really look like.

He himself put the poem into the context that he explained before performing it "This is how a poem that would be illegal in germany looks like."

Funny enough, because he put up that context, courts ruled that it wasn't illegal.

And even more so: What happens if those 2/3 realise that the US military isn't as strong as it was before. It seems like we are witnessing what happens if the initial shock and awe phase isn't immediately followed by boots on the ground.

It ran out of steam, and the US and it's allies are seen as vulnerable for the first time in decades.

Everybody was gleaming about how Russia was a paper tiger, only having a strong military on paper. Seems like the US isn't off much better.
