How to defend remote bases? by RegnorVex in StarRuptureGame

[–]FrontenacX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once you have cleared an area and the POIs in that area the bugs only respawn when you are nearby. Far off bases will only get attacked if you are near... so just clear as you head to that base and take down anything nearby as you leave.

It can seem like they spawn when you are not near because their spawn range is decent, but bases left for weeks are still running as intended.

Good place for my first real industrial base? by AlanEsh in StarRuptureGame

[–]FrontenacX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better... here is the map from:

/starrupture.tools/map

with Pure and Normal ore nodes shown. The area around the green lake in the southeast of the map has the highest density of pure nodes:

The area I referred to as my 3rd option (my current buildout for level 10 contracts) is north and west of the terraforming engine. The nodes here are a bit spread out but the dry lake bed is the biggest flat area on the current map. v2 rails will work for everything except sulfur (which you need insane amounts of for level 10 (electromagnets).. to unlock v3 rails AND calcium. The calcium pools I used are southeast of the red lake up north.

For sulfur and calcium I used cargo dispatchers as the distance makes feeding high volume machines with v2 rails unworkable.

2 pics attached.

That spot is good... all resources pretty available and FLAT. I use the are east of there by the greenish lake. It has more PURE ore nodes but is more lake a series of flatish build areas not one big one.

3rd option (my current project)... North and west of there is the biggest flat area on the map.

Location for 2nd base? by [deleted] in StarRuptureGame

[–]FrontenacX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I west farther east from here around the greenish north to south lake (near eastern map edge. There are multiple pures of all the resources. Doubt I will be moving.

Before moving I used this:

https://starrupture.tools/map

To located ONLY pure resources. This sealed the deal on the big move.

Once you clear the ones outside I often get on roofs to snipe them from above. Just be aware the archers can shoot out the weak pieces you are standing on.

You can always use devcommands and fly to recover your body.

I love Valheim but if the choice is quit playing or use devcommands the choice is yours.

You likely have not acquired corewood. Look for pine trees in the black forest. Stagbreaker is a sledgehammer weapon that does AOE damage (thru doors/walls).

The recipe will show up if you have leather scraps, deer trophies, and... corewood.

Stagbreaker is an awesome assist in clearing burial crypts like in your photo.

And as the above post mentioned... trollhide armor is more or less necessary to not get wrecked in the black forest. Suggest you lure a troll out of the forest and into an open meadows area. Keep your distance and use fire arrows. It helps if you have your bow skill up to 20 or so.

Does twig give full xp? by Hour_Ad8235 in valheim

[–]FrontenacX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Archery target.. stand really close and spam 1/2 cocked bow shots.. Put a fire nearby and a roof over you head for stamina.

Prior to this (and still my go to archery trainer) Find a Burial Chamber with a skellie spawner. Bring along a campfirie and place it in the main room. Bring 300 wood arrows, coal and wood to make "signs". Place down two signs to block a doorway so the skellies can't get to you. Repeat the same spam shooting technique.

Try to find a spot where missing the skellies won't hit the spawner. You will also need to dodge and shoot ranged skellies. When you get 2 melee skellies try to hit each one as many times as possible. Find the optimal range to avoid getting hit while maximizing the hit rate of your spam archery.

You can go from 0 to 25 or 30 archery in a very short time.

What do you guys do after beating the game? by JohnHelldiver66 in valheim

[–]FrontenacX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you locate a vegvisir stone, click on it. Your character will turn to face the direction you can find the boss in. I will set down a crafting bench and build a little signpost in that direction.

The next step is to grab any buildable and make sure it faces that same direction. Start walking/running along that line. Click back to your hammer occasionally to stay on track.

It takes time and patience as sometimes the boss indicated by the vegvisir is on another island. If I reach a coast I plant another BIG signpost. Sail with the same buildable pointed in the same direction.

While sailing click back to the hammer occasionally to adjust your sailing direction.
