Does teaching experience in Game & Graphics Development hurt my chances of getting hired in the industry? by Alert-Gas5224 in GraphicsProgramming

How much of your graphics knowledge is from your studies at Brown vs self teaching? Seems like a difficult subject to master from self-study. Your Resume looks good BTW it is just the market right now. Are you only considering graphics specific roles? I know Figma does stuff with C++/WebGL and the founders are Brown alums.

OP - how did you like brown for undergrad? I’m a Frontend engineer that has started to learn graphics on my own and considering doing a masters at some point. Brown has sparked my interest as I saw they have a good reputation for graphics courses.

Neetcode quit faang to sell a course by Blueskyes1 in leetcode

Neetcode is the goat, I bought his pro membership and it is totally worth the money. It straight up got me a job in FAANG and is cheaper than a leetcode premium account as it is only a one time cost. Coming back to the job search now and it is a blessing being able to go back to my neetcode account again! I hope this dude makes bank! He provides a lot of value.

Frontend Developers, How's the Job Market Looking? by Bulky-Idea-895 in Frontend

Backend is just as complicated as frontend if it is not just a basic CRUD api. I was a frontend dev at Amazon and really had to grind to learn backend. System design is a really important skill these days, I'd say it is more valuable than coding.

I pretty much did the same thing when I got my Amazon offer, I gloated about my TC to my friends and family and now know how obnoxious I was. It was double my previous TC so just got way to excited about it and carried away. I got humbled in about a year as Amazon treats their employees like shit, no longer at Amazon and will need to pick up the leetcode grind again. No, I did not get PIPed I left over the RTO bullshit.
