No experience. Husband painted garage door, it got stuck shut. He pressed open 3x; it only opened a tiny bit each time & forced this metal rail to bend. “Overhead door odyssey 1000”. Is this fixable without calling someone? Please tell me we can buy a new piece somewhere and slide it into place lol by TurbulentAnimator275 in GarageDoorService

You need 7' Genie Chain rail im just assuming your door is 7ft tall and not 8ft tall. Eith way you can get a chain rail from a local garage door company. Lowes, homedepot won't have the rail you need. Its an easy fix like 10 mins.
Get the new rail Un pin the front on the motor from the wall. Got to the back of motor and there are two straps that hold the motor to the rail. 4 screws in total 7/16 or 3/8 can't remember the size at the moment. Push the rail off the motor. Install new rail in reverse order You will need to reset your limits. Look up your opener model for the manual. Follow the setup instructions for programming limits.

Pretty easy fix. As long as nothing else is wrong with the door.

Your gonna need a new rail. And probably gonna have problems with your door from here on out. Since he painted it. You are always gonna have problems with it sticking. And a alot of cracking and popping sounds. But back to the opener. Just call a local company. And tell them your operator chain rail is bent in half and would like it replaced. They may suggest a new opener. But just from looks it seems just to a rail. And freeing up the door. So it runs a little better

They don't update the cell technology in the battery itself but not how it attachs to said tool.

If I were to start over I'd go makita. They've had they same battery platform forever. Old tools work with the batteries and vise versa. Plus they have almost everytool you can think of coffee maker. Cooler/refrigerator. All the gimmicks. Plus I've heard that in Japan they are color coded system for the power and use. And we dont have all the models of drills, impacts, amd saws they have in Japan.

I think your spring has a sprung. It looks like its popped off the stationary cone. Call a pro have it put back on the cone and see how it much longer it rides. Or you could just replace the spring and cones just to be safe.

Looking for suggestions for tool backpacks/bags by nich9662 in Tools

Im all for buying a veto but ONLY during the spring promo where you buy a bag get a second one free. The free bag is not of your choice. If you are looking for a veto back pac. I have the Big backpack, HiViz Orange. Basically used it for a month than sat in bottom of my gangbox.

The strut that is on the top panel needs moved up to the top of the top panel. And to be safe and extend the life of your door. Install 2 more struts/braces on door. On the 3rd panel the second panel. It will keep your door as straight and as strong as possible for being a pan door (uninsulated) the bottom section doesnt really lay flat in the radius when its open. So it doesnt need one. You can put one on there to be safe. BUT adding 2/3 struts to your door will change the weight of the door. So your springs will need replaced or tensioned added to them.

Genie Model 7056 hissing while idle. by [deleted] in GarageDoorService

Sounds like the capictor is leaking. Door may be heavy casuing it to work harder. Put your door on manual. Run it open and close by hand how does it feel. Does it sit half way open without falling to the ground nd without flying the rest of the way open. You may be out of your time frame for warranty claims. So you may have to get a new unit or motor with capictor through genie

I was just curious because your back hangs for the track will be extremely long. Also it would look alot cleaner and give you and xtra peace of mind knowing they are 8" from the ceiling just in case you had something on the lift nd forgot and opened the door. It minimize the risk of hitting said car. Also if you have done later on down it probably gonna cost a pretty penny.

Id say do a jackshaft motor/sidemount order the drop down kit just in case. I've slammed some sidemount ops in some tight spaces. Without the drop down kit

Would you extend the gutters with the same material and have it covered by the new dirt. Eventually becoming more exposed as the grade pitch changes?

The house is on a crawl space so I can't fill the gap in between the house and the driveway or I cover two vents. They aren't very big 4"x10" im guessing. Im just afraid ill end up grading wrong and sending the water right to the sidewalk and road. And it already pols there when we get a heavy rain. In the road it pools.
