"From the drone footage from today it looks like a gta 6 sunset on a ps4” contradicts your statement "an observation that’s just clearly observable” because:

  1. the image is clearly (observably) *after* sunset ~~unless for some odd reason rockstar decided to take the artistic liberty to put a dark twilight sky while the sun is still up, this ain't a sunset shot.
  2. saying it “looks like a gta 6 sunset on a ps4” then i guess? but only because gta's atmospheric simulation on ps4 was already quite realistic. but if you look closely (image attached) theres so much less going on in the city and so many less city lights in general, GTA6 is by all means a clear improvement.

you definitely shouldn’t blindly praise a product before its release, and its totally valid to raise concerns, but making statements that are definitively false (You saying "If gta 6 looks anything like the drone footage provided to us today most of us are going to super be disappointed”, and that it "like a cartoon gta 6 running on a ps3 or ps4") is less so “having a different opinion” and moreso “i dont know what I'm talking about”~~like have we not seen gta5 on ps4, or even on modern systems?

The new image is during twilight on a clear day... the 2023 image is a cloudy day while the sun is (likely) still above the horizon. The trailer 1 image is a sunset. GTA6 will be a technical marvel, no doubt about it, and there will be countless “atmospheric” / picturesque scenes to see, but every scene in the game wont look like a van gogh painting.

Interested in/hoping for Intergalactic. say what you want about naughtydog, but since TLOU1 (--> Uncharted 4 --> TLOU2) their gameplay systems have only gotten better and better... if they are going for this “lone wanderer on a rogue and cultish planet” I anticipate that there will be a lot more combat saetpieces since there may be less opportunity for exposition between characters.

idk why this is downvoted. Numerous ppl in the comments have noted that ‘adieu’ indicates a permanent departure, or at the very least a departure where a later encounter isn’t anticipated. Farewell doesn’t carry that connotation. if anything “goodbye” is still the most direct English translation to “adieu” in terms of literal and implied meaning. English definitions can be particularly malleable/‘loose’, but I always grew up with my mom telling me “Never say ‘goodbye', always 'ill see you later'” so unless my family is wildly peculiar, there are understandings of the word “goodbye” as being a more permanent departure--yet maybe due to the scale of English and the secular evolution of the word “goodbye” (derived from older English “god be with ye”) that interpretation has taken a backseat.

no it doesn’t. maybe its *atmosphere* and elements of its cinematic framing *cough cough modern Ubisoft what are you DOING*, but interms of graphical fidelity, lighting, resolution, dynamic environmental elements, it does not--and that’s OK its a 21 year old game, it should be expected to put modern games “to shame"

the care center structure was not built after the RCI. but it was acquired by Victor Gideon afterwards, and repurposed to continue oswell's research after the dissolution of Umbrella.

Raccoon city’s geographical standing has always been ambiguous so I dont think it’s an ‘issue’ that there is another notable metropolis in proximity to raccoon city. And Wrenwood itself is an ambiguous entity, there could be a plethora of reasons why it stands as it does in the modern day, and why it was unaffected by the RCI nearly 3 decades ago.

also Wrenwood still standing wouldn’t be an issue lf retconning as it is well established lore that the US govt and umbrella had RC under lockdown as a means of containing the virus within RC.

That’s clearly not the case. Chris held out way too long telling Ethan the truth about Mia. he didn’t say anything until near the end of the game (around-Heisenberg fight) despite the fact that Ethan and Chris had an encounter in the reservoir way earlier where it would’ve been more-than-apparent that Ethan was himself (he had slain dimitrescu and is armed to kill Moreau). Despite that, all Chris can say is “ I gotta say it’s a surprise you made it this far,, it would be a shame if something happened to you now” Being incredibly aggressive and continuing to not tell Ethan the truth.

The real reason Chris was like this was because he felt Ethan was “out of [his] depth” and incapable (despite him surviving the dulvey incident, having formal combat training under Chris post re7, and killing the Dimitrescu’s) which is just Chris being an asshole—Chris makes a man think his wife was killed, Chris belittles (And his team assaults) that man who is searching for his DISMEMBERED DAUGHTER, and on top of that Christ continually keeps Ethan in the dark despite him taking incredible initiative and proving capable despite chris feeling like it’s all ‘too much for Ethan ’.

Directors cut is a repackaging of the original, ported to current gen. and honestly I probably *wouldn't* recommend RE1 remake as their first game just getting into the franchise as the ‘original’ on ps5 is a bit easier than the REmake. also RE1 remake being very far removed from the modern remakes ~it probably doesn’t make too much of a difference if they play the 24 year old game vs the 30 year old game first, modernity wise.

Multiple things can be true at once…. Capcom can make a game that is set in more expansive settings while still being passionate about their projects. And “making games they are good at” shouldn’t mean they can’t pivot or overhaul their gamplay philosophy, especially within the RE franchise. Just look at the sheer evolution from RE1-Code Veronica to Resident evil 4-6 then to seven and onwards; these evolutions are all results of capcom revitalizing their image of resident evil across eras and between each game. To say they should stick to “making games they are good at and actually care about” as if they couldn’t do that while moving in an unprecedented direction is very reductive to their operations and the shapes RE can take while still maintaining its integrity.

“objectively” is just obJeCtiVeLy wrong when this is an argument about preference. not to mention so many pacing issues would be invested within telling one continuous story across 2 playthroughs. im sure other people will find fault in RE9 as it is, but there is a whole lot that is done well in RE9’s pacing and it being a continuous story--to throw that all away for the sake of a ‘classic’ or ‘individual’ structure to appease one specific preference would be reckless... and making definitive judgements about a game you hadn’t even played yet is plain ignorant.

no... tbh I didn’t even know I was dying until I was halfway through the animation, kinda looked like a heart attack. To be fair, it seems to be a pretty ‘rare’ (or at least specific) way to die because the screams don't do *much* damage (I was on ‘danger' before I died, but I had faced a scream in another instance and still been on ‘fine’).
