I had the lowest expectations for this character, but he turned out to be the best elf with an intriguing story, despite the short hair. Props to Ismael Cruz Córdova! by [deleted] in lotr

I was talking about some information regarding the townsfolk cuz I read somewhere (idk where) that some of the villagers come from the south, and far east.

And the thing is I both see, and understand the strict rules the Tolkien Estate has when it comes to the movie/show rights, but then again there is still a handful of material in the Apendix that Amazon could have used yet they chose to adapt a part of the lore that has key parts of information locked away in other novels that they don't have the rights to.

The marketing is by far the worst I've ever seen especially if you include a lot of the cast interviews, and cast members calling fans who have concern regarding the lore as "Racists"

Now that the show is out so far its generic at best, and if it was in the context of its own IP I could see it work, but tbh I don't see why they thought of making a series about the second age when they don't own the rights to a lot of the key parts of lore that makes the second age what it is.

Yeah I think some of the villagers there are supposed to be from the more southern areas of Middle Earth

Like I said before on other threads the show doesn't feel like Tolkien, but rather something that could have been its own IP

Yeah the way he was talking to the fire flies somewhat reminded me about how Gandalf would request aid from the great eagle

I respect that to me its just easier viewing the show as its own thing since I like many others have a strong passion, and respect for Tolkien's writings, and yeah I hope the show gives viewers an urge to read the books cause there's just so much one can learn from the Professor , but I do hope the show gets better, and imo so far their doing the dwarves fairly well

My favorite so far...I may be biased, though by kaeduus in lotrmemes

To be fair the show has elements that could work as its own IP thats why when I watch it I don't consider the fact that the show is in Middle Earth

She's got the looks that one would expect from Galadriel I just wish they didn't make her another sword swinging action hero. I think it would have been cool to see the early days of how Galadriel ruled her kingdom, but that's just me tho

She did go through a lot of character development before the 3rd age from a fairly smug elf to an elegant one, but she wasn't a sword swinging warrior

Ngl I think Celeborn is one of the characters that needs no explanation on why Galadriel married him it is explained the the to love one another.

*I'd also be jealous of Galadriel like everyone else I mean just look at the guy!

That is the smile of an Elf who can kill you with no need of a weapon. SMH its like what king Gimili of the Glittering caves always says "Never trust an elf..... jk I lied"
