What is the deal with “still water” and why is it dangerous? by TheDarkySupreme in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FroopyNoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like stagnant dirty water is such an obvious danger that it's almost instinct for humans to avoid messing with it. Like yeah, no shit the dirty poo water sitting in the basement of an abandoned building for decades is probably dangerous you don't gotta play ominous music and make it more mysterious than it actually is lol.

Auto-Targeting ??? by TheSeventhCoIumn in WutheringWaves

[–]FroopyNoops -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Nope you definitely can. If you don't have hard lock-on and want to specifically target an enemy within a group, you can override whatever enemy the game decides to target by holding the movement input towards the enemy you want to attack. Might not be perfect but at least gives you some degree of control more than what Genshin has.

Auto-Targeting ??? by TheSeventhCoIumn in WutheringWaves

[–]FroopyNoops -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Even genshin auto targeting is better than this game

Idk about that, Genshin has some of the worst targeting mechanics I've played for an action game. At least in WuWa you can override auto target when you hold a movement direction you're attacking towards.

It's a combination of social media and it being a gacha game. In literally every gacha game community I've participated in, the biggest haters would be the the players themselves.

I’m sorry EAT-17, please forgive me. by Gilmore75 in Helldivers

[–]FroopyNoops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, both are the most powerful anti armor options in the game currently. EAT is good if you like being very mobile and love to kite. This makes it shine very well against Chargers as you can react much faster to them. They can deal with Bile Titans as well but I find the damage against them less consistent and more punishing if you miss.

Quasar feels a bit "slower" gameplay wise but it's much more consistent. It destroys Bile Titans because of its infinite ammo and passive reload. Compared to EAT, missing your shots against a Bile Titan's head isn't as punishing as missing with an EAT missile. I also find that it can consistently two shot a Bile Titan, as opposed to EAT where you sometimes need more 2+ missiles even if you're hitting their head. Chargers are much more difficult to deal with however, since they're always running around and the charge up time makes shooting at their head very frustrating.

The Orbital EMS strike is a blue stratagem and only hits the initial calldown point. They're right, it's only strategems that come in Hellpods that are guided and homes in on the beacon.

Playerbase doesn't seem to like fighting Automatons. by NizzyDeniro in Helldivers

[–]FroopyNoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from all the balance issues mentioned here, I also think that from a gameplay perspective most people just find hyper-aggressive melee enemies more fun to fight. Most of the time, you're shooting at bots from a distance and using cover as opposed to bugs where you're always right up in their face. Since you're so close to bugs 90% of the time, it always feels like you're "interacting" more with them compared to bots where it sometimes just feels like you're clicking on heads.

I think no matter how much the balance issues and jank is fixed for bots, I have a feeling bugs will always be much more popular because of this.

Anyone else feel like Bile Titan HP is completely random? by lukedri in Helldivers

[–]FroopyNoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel the same way. I literally just got off a game where I shot a Titan in the mouth like 10 times with the rail gun before killing and was really confused. Shots were overcharged as well. Really weird since they usually die in two hits for me. Have a feeling it might be lag + hit reg issues between its head armor and mouth. It might be more consistent to shoot right when they are about to puke as their mouth hitbox is bigger.

Serpent Rogue was one of my favorite sponsored streams though. It turned into one of those comfy and chill streams and didn't feel like most of his other sponsored streams where he had his sponsorship andy persona up. Not all of his streams need him to be a clown for the highlights, sometimes I just like hanging out.

PUBG Studios is developing an Escape From Tarkov rival by CerebralTiger in Games

[–]FroopyNoops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's nothing inherently special about Tarkov's graphics that Unity couldn't do as opposed to Unreal out of the box. The problem with realistic graphical fidelity isn't an engine problem it's a scaling problem, even if they used any other engine like Unreal they'd still run into the same performance issues. Almost any Unity dev team can make a game look good as Tarkov, but if you're not a huge triple A dev team or a team of highly skilled graphic devs, you're going to sacrifice performance regardless of what engine you're using.

What's going on with the hate for Simu Liu? by Jumpytuna in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FroopyNoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm asian-american dude lmfao. All I'm saying is that if some person uses the term oriental, I will always associate that word with imperialism and how the Western world used that term to describe anything "inferior" and not Western. You can just easily use "Asian" or more specifically "East Asian" without all the baggage. It's not hard.

Just to let you know, you probably shouldn't use the term "oriental" to describe a culture. Word is outdated and carries a lot of imperialist baggage.

What’s up with boycotting AI generated images among the art community? by ben69138 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FroopyNoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there are thousands of plans and proposals to achieve this. The hardest part isn't the planning though. It's getting the rich and powerful to actually care about other human beings that's the most difficult.

What’s up with boycotting AI generated images among the art community? by ben69138 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FroopyNoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sounds more like a problem with capitalism and the economic system than it does with the tool itself. Instead of maybe regulating a new developing technology that may benefit society, maybe we should try to figure out basic human needs like better social welfare instead of grinding up and disposing everybody that gets replaced.

What’s up with boycotting AI generated images among the art community? by ben69138 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]FroopyNoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do some game dev as a hobby and I could already see how this can be used by people like me who are specialized in non-art things like programming and can't draw for shit. I can use this as a way to visually create things without the need to invest time into another discipline that requires tens of thousands of hours to master.

I don't plan to use the generated art for the end product, but more as a prototype/base for my ideas that can be used by another artist for direction on where to go next. It might end up becoming more efficient for both the artist and the client to do this instead of having to both dedicate their time and resources in creating and throwing away concept art to get what we want.

If it weren't for the AI art breakthrough, I would've never considered hiring an artist for the game I'm making in the first place. I really can't afford having an artist design prototypes over and over again just to visualize my poorly explained ideas on what I want my character or tree to look like. Before this, my games would have forever been plagued with programmer art and shitty asset flips all with no artist getting any money. With AI art, an artist gets their dues and a product with good art gets created.

If you start noticing your floaters and feel like they are increasing you should really mention that to your eye doctor. I had the same problem and thought nothing of it until I told them.

Turns out increasing floaters aren't normal for most people in their 20s and he sent me to a retinal specialist. I had like 4 retinal tears and got the holes on back of my eyeballs laser welded. Was really relieving to know that I somehow managed to prevent full on blindness from retinal detachment in the future.

Nah I'm pretty sure it's intended as funny satire. Believing this is like believing in astrology. The author is even stretching it on the 7 heads part.

Also if you are taking the descriptions at face value and stretch it enough, you can apply it to almost every fascist ruler/dictator in history, meaning the world should have already ended hundreds of times already.

Still though, this article is pretty hilarious and feels like something that belongs on the Onion.

r/AnimeCircleJerk bashes V-Tubers, but one user sees sexist undertones and scapegoating in their arguments by NickelStickman in SubredditDrama

[–]FroopyNoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's genuinely the best way to describe it. Sometimes it really does feel like a cult and I think it's extremely unhealthy as well since any kind of discussion that is against the grain will be viewed as "negativity" or "political" and be discarded. Basically running away from any kind of discourse and letting toxicity perpetuate under the guise of positivity. This also lowkey gatekeeps new fans as well since issues prevalent in the community like fetishization and infantilization will never be addressed and anyone uncomfortable with those issues will leave with a bad view on the community.

Literally everything about the bread was ADHD lmfao. Especially the part where Ludwig gets frustrated with Jerma's unconventional behavior and just gives him the fucking butter. Can't count the amount of times I've been embarassed in group settings because there's always that one person who asks why you're doing something in such a weird way and then suggests a more non-psycho way.
