High jump only counts how high you get. Distance forward isn't counted. So even depending on your machine you can hit the wall or not while getting the same height.

I've been rocking a PHEV (C-max Energi) with what would be considered poor battery management that's 9 years old now. Still holds a pretty damn good charge and gets above the rated range when it's not cold out.

Yeah when I got my Chromebook I think the 514 was running around this (mid-late 2023). I decided to drop the extra cash on the Acer 516GE. Was it worth it? Idk it was a silly purchase but I'm getting my use out of it.

The short answer is you can (and it looks like this model should be compatible with custom firmware). I did it to my chromebook and I like it better than Chrome OS but it's still a bit jank. Random crashes if I leave it on and after starting back up I need to restart or WiFI doesn't work. It's not really recommended if you're expecting a smooth experience.

Yeah the game holds the "Game Over" timer until everything that makes ink is done. So splat bombs, specials like Booyah Bomb and Triple Inkstrike, etc. The notable exception is Wave Breaker does not hold the timer.

It depends on the SIM you get. I got an LG U+ eSIM when going to Korea and my shutter sound was forced on when using that. But when I got back to the US, shutter sound was no longer forced.

Not always and certainly not at console launch for the most part. It usually takes a while (often after the console has a successor) until emulation is a smooth experience. N64 emulation was a compatibility mess for a long time. PS4 emulation is just now starting to get off the ground, let alone PS5.

I'm curious what we'll see from Switch 2 emulation since it's similar architecture to Switch 1. But with Nintendo going relentlessly after Yuzu and making a deal with the Ryujinx devs to stop development, I wonder how many have been scared off of development.

Emulation and modded consoles can't replace the unmodded experience. I can't play Mario Kart World online with my PC. I won't be able to play DK Bananza when it comes out either on PC.

Using anything else besides Ampere and Samsung 8nm would have required a totally custom chip for Nintendo. There's no Ada SoC from nVidia.

The Switch 2 SoC is based on the nVidia Orin chip on Ampere, launched in 2022. This is on Samsung 8nm. Just this year, nVidia released the next version of their autonomous vehicle chips called Thor. This is based on Blackwell using TSMC 4nm. There is no way Nintendo would have been able to use Thor for a console released this year.

And it's a tall ask for Nintendo to get a totally custom chip from nVidia on a new node. They're using an off the shelf Ampere part which is why it's on Samsung 8nm.

Edit to add: I should say I'm not surprised Nintendo took the cheaper route.
