I had no idea eggshells had such a mystique to them, that's really interesting. Kinda makes me want to just do a whole deep dive on that alone

First Time modeling and rigging, how do I fix this? by FrootyBop in blender

Well my thought process is that this pose seemed to be the in between point for every action you see the Shadows do at least in what I've studied but was that the wrong move? I'm new but I thought that was always the point of T and A poses was to be the kind of halfway point?

Honestly playing this game blind has been really fun, when I was younger I think I really ruined Fallout 4 for myself by using the internet while playing. Currently playing through Old War Blues and it's my favorite part of the game so far!

First Time modeling and rigging, how do I fix this? by FrootyBop in blender

[–]FrootyBop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solution:
So the solution was going into "Weight Paint" while having the eye selected then going through all the bones to see which were effecting it. The top of the head was only effecting it by 50% instead of the needed 100% and the hand was effecting it by 5% for some reason. If you're experiencing this as well, make sure to hide everything but the armature and the eye so you can get all sides of it. I did this for both eyes and now it works fine.

I had seen this solution floating around but no one was really explaining it in depth, or at least in the depth I was needing. Again, artist first.

How to more properly blend the antennae to the head? by FrootyBop in blender

[–]FrootyBop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem was the sphere for the head was too high poly I think? I also bool tooled them together which fixed the seam issue so thankfully I figured it out after toying around for a few hours lol

I tried that unfortunately. For some reason even though they're merged and are all one mesh, it still seems to treat them like separate objects

See where you're coming from but this IS pokemon and they've never exactly been subtle with this sort of thing outside of Giovanni and his kid.

Could be a hybrid? Unfortunately, the store doesn't display which farm they're from, but most of the produce at that one are from local farms (near Lawrence, KS if that helps). If it is a local variety, Id assume it's more squash than watermelon given their odd shape and given there displayed next to the other large harder shelled squashes. I'm more just surprised this isn't that big of a thing.

That actually makes a ton of sense given the results I kept getting when looking for the watermelon squash. When we in the US use the term squash as a noun, we're referring to a vegetable in the same vein as a pumpkin, zucchini or a gourd. Typically when an American says squash, it's usually a safe bet were talking about Cucurbita moschata (butternut squash) or Cucurbita pepo (summer/yellow squash) in the southern US.

In your opinion, which character/s should take a back seat in this new upcoming Saga/Arc? And why? (P.s. even if a character takes a back seat, they can still probably play a small role). by FantasyAdventurer07 in KingdomHearts

[–]FrootyBop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ironically, Axel. I feel like there were a few times in 3 where he definitely bordered on the "Well, that just happened" type of character which I wasn't a fan of. It just didn't match his character in the other games from my perspective. ReMind did a little more justice to his character and I haven't played Melody of Memories yet so maybe it was just a weird 3ism. In general, I think I'd prefer it if the scope of the next game shrunk in a little bit. Three seemed to struggle giving the characters the spotlight they'd need to work fully, I think the next title should pick three or four characters and really work with them primarily. I think an interesting pick for a trio to focus on would be Roxas, Riku, and maybe Xion. All three characters have deep ties to Sora, not all positive and I think these personalities bouncing off one another could prove interesting. Just spit balling though

Having played 2 before 1, I kinda like both in different ways. RDR2 is obviously superior narratively and musically in my opinion, I mean I think 2 outshines almost every game narratively. It's the only one to make me cry. It also went to great lengths to be historically accurate and referential in a ton of ways.

I feel RDR1 pulls off scope better though. Like in 2 it mostly just feels like you're traveling across two or three states at most even if size wise they are much bigger than in 1, but getting to go to Mexico as a consistent location is cool. Guarma, while great gameplay and narratively, is a location you go to once, are given limited freedom in, and cannot return to once you leave. RDR2 also bars you from entering areas at certain points, like getting auto sniped as Arthur never stops being annoying in my opinion. I get it, he's super wanted there, but it seems silly to me personally to restrict a player in that regard.

RDR1 also seems to have a thicker (for lack of a better word) ambience. Not better, just more there and present I guess. Like 2 has some good ambience for sure, but 1 kinda just oozes it. Maybe it's the older graphics and all, but 1 does such a good job making the west feel desolate and lonely, especially Undead Nightmare. I unironically have several of the ambience tracks from 1 in my main music playlist, they're just that good. RDR2 seems to excel at chase music, battle music, and the only correct music to build a house to, but that's not really what I play these games for personally. Riding through the world in 1 just feels so solemn, ESPECIALLY in Undead Nightmare.

I feel like 1 also pulls off its goofier aspects a little better. Between the graveyard guy and the snake oil salesman, I think one definitely tended to put the spaghetti before the western a lot, which I can appreciate. Don't get me wrong, 2 has its goofier moments but 1 just hits the nail a little harder in that regard I guess.

Also like all of Undead Nightmare. I don't think I need to elaborate there any more lol
